Electricityscape
I do like them, and they'd be a safe addition. But i could think of so many better bands to have headlining.
kev1664
I do like them, but I think just about everyone in the world has seen them now. But I think that they could easily still do it. But that being said I can see R&L doing the same booking pattern as last year. 2 new headliners then a massive act to follow. Green day, Muse, Foos(unlikely) followed by Kasabian, My Chemical Romance can't really think of any others.
metallimuse
Its not that there's no logic behind it, just that there's no evidence to suggest that they will play. I think anyone trying to establish 'trends' should look to the GnR booking or to the long-standing mythology of the 'metal' day. Muse have been done to death by UK festivals in the last 5 or 6 years, this is what makes people doubt whether they will play.
Role Model
If we're going to have one of the deadly trio of Green Day, Muse and Kasabian, much rather it was GD personally.

RichieParf
Tbf no-one has a clue who's gonna headline next year Hence why only the obvious names are being mentioned (Green Day, Muse, Kasabian etc.) Who at this time could've made a decent prediction about any of 2010's headliners (other than Blink)
RichieParf
There's no evidence no but most people think its a given that they will do it.Muse love Reading,Matt and Dom have very publicly said this. They last played just as 'Blackholes...' came out which is a good 4/5 years ago. They may be "taking a year off" but they are still playing gigs, they are doing south America in March,so I could easily and very much expect them to finish off their tour cycle with Reading & Leeds. Very much the same as when Metallica headline Reading you know they will be back for Download the year after lol.Well, atleast until Sonisphere popped up. joe1990
no we dont want muse its about an interesting as getting s club 7 back toghther. after there new album wich i think is great, i would love to see kings of leon. they might not of gone down to well last time they were there. but with this album and the band progressing in to somthing very special, i would like to see them falling that dig up elvis, more life in him than a muse set. Role Model
KOL are probably a bigger evil than Muse, which is quite impressive.
jump
I'm always sceptical when bands say its their favourite festival, I'm sure if I got paid a million quid to headline something it would be my favourite too

j-j-j-j-joe!
All the 'real' music fans have to turn on a band once they've become successful.Didn't you get the memo?
metallimuse
Well they were superb at wembley and i thought they looked great at Glastonbury. They are just having fun enjoying the much deserved success that has come their way and pushing it as far as they can.Matt has said that the next tour and album may be a more stripped down, sober affair as other than turning into U2 there isn't much else they can do. Fair play to them i say,its great to see a band like them really doing whatever they want on such a large scale. I also dont agree that the album was pretencious. Joe-
They were brilliant the last time I saw them in September, at least they're not big twats like Kings of leon. Wouldn't really want either of them playing, wouldn't be a nice suprise.

Cydonia_90
Actually people turn on bands whe their new album is pretentious, overblown and self indulgent, and their lives shows have got so stupidly preposterous that they put zero effort into the songs anymore and are EVERYWHERE! Seriously, their performance at Glastonbury this year looked awful. Did Matt Bellamy even move form the spot he was standing on? Pet Shop Boys on The Other Stage however, looked superb. dip
Muse are either amazing, or average depending on the gig. and they'll be there in 2011, they've been there as guests for the past 3 years.
