Forget the pram as your first choice. Even the poshest prams won't be be able to cope with the ground conditions I expect to see. Get one of those rucksack backpack type thingies and slot the kid into that. Take the pram as well 'cos it is a good portable bed for the babe. Just don't expect to he able to use it to transport the kid. Treat the pram as an extra bit of kit to sling over your shoulder.

Think we should ignore all 'news' articles about the weather, they're mostly churnalised PR puff pieces designed to get a particular forecast co's name in the paper and are always going to be made to sound a bit more dramatic than they actually are.

+ at this stage by the time the articles have even gone to press the data used for the forecasts will be out of date

just had a text from my folks who are in northern france - just been hit by scorching weather today that's come up from the south (they're actually looking forward to cooling down in the pool later they say)

apparently they spoke to some local character on the campsite who reckons it might be headed our way - fingers crossed!

(realise there's little to trust here, but wanted to share some positive news!)

I agree...meteorologists must not be trusted.

Example: The person who said June would be scorching hot with tempratures beating Athens and Cairo - well so far June has been cold, grey and typically British.

Heatwave my arse!
