rexclark
Although the heat was unbearable at times last year I'd happily take it again. It was great not having to worry about it being cold at night. The only issue I had was one day it was so hot the only clothes I wore were a pair of shorts, trainers and a hat. William of Walworth
I never said that was what I meant to be fair. If it was a choice between coping with heat or getting wet, I'd choose being hot. 2009 would be ideal for me, rather than 2010, which was uncomfortable at times, but much more bearable than 2007 Edited May 23, 2011 by William of Walworth
William of Walworth
With JACKONE's latest ('Week 2') forecast on Netweather, it's not really a forecast yet as such. Glastonbury is still too far off (in forecasting terms) for him to yet be able to rely on anything other than very broad American CBA output. The true forecasting projections for late June are yet to emerge properly. As time goes on, he will be relying much more on closer range forecasting. Can't guarentee that that will be better, but early signals from the Met Office (and BBC, which largely shadows what the Met Office say albeit not 100%) look encouraging so far. Even in JACKONE's Week 2 'forecast' you will notice that the worst suggestions were at the earliest dated end of the range, and the later dated ones started to improve matters .... incident
Mmm, but "hot" isn't the opposite of "wet", and "dry" isn't the opposite of "cold". Temperature vs Wetness by ukslim, on Flickr Green is good. Light green is better. Amber is in-between. Red is DO NOT WANT. I was tempted to put 2010 further to the right. I want the temperature to be just right, and for it to be dry. Saying "I'll take hot over wet" is like saying "I'll have stale cake as long as the tea's not cold". THEBOILERMAN
IT WILL NOT RAIN, IT WILL BE DRY, IT WILL BE SUNNY, IT WILL BE F**KING HOT. i`m just going to keep repeating this, it`s become my mantra.

devonhammer
From the Met Office website UK Outlook for Monday 6 Jun 2011 to Monday 20 Jun 2011: For this period, rainfall amounts look to be close to or below average for the time of year for most parts of the UK. Sunshine is likely to be above average for the most part and this will help temperatures to be above average, or even well above the average in some areas, for much of the period, especially in the south. Updated: 1208 on Sun 22 May 2011 I know this only takes us to the monday before even traveling down, but its still promising!
Wirephil
Just got caught in a torrential down pour in Macclesfield and loved it, which is a first. Quite happy for us to get all this wet weather out of the way before the third week in June and I am in no way annoyed that I am now sat at my desk like a drowned rat Edited May 23, 2011 by Wirephil

Simon1803201
I swore to myself I wouldn't look at this thread this year. I can't handle the emotional roller coaster anymore. I've gone very nearly insane in previous years. Clearly, I've cracked but I'm hoping to get back onto the wagon. I don't want to look at the weather again until Countryfile. junglist_matty
Last year was far too hot in the day and freezing in the evening! Although I'd take too hot over too wet any day of the week! Cloudy with breaks of sunshine and a few light showers is the perfect Glastonbury weather - a nice light morning shower keeps the dust away and clouds mean a nice cool temperature and the evenings stay a lot warmer! Plus the super hot weather means its impossible to sleep after about 8am as all tents turn to sauna's and finding a shady space is difficult work as they are all packed! donshakey
I thought I was going to die from the heat last year. Wasn't getting back to the tent until about 0700 then by 8am was sweating whatever I had taken clean out of my system. Glasto well and truly taught me a lesson last year. Gone for a fully air conned motorhome thsi time around!!
William of Walworth
I'd happily take another year like last year. Although it was stupidly hot, nothing beats being able to sit where you want, when you want.

gizmoman
I honestly can't remember being too hot or even uncomfortable last year, though I do recall the tent being covered in dust! I can however recall vividly parts of 1997, 2005, 2007 etc, (r**n,m*d) I therefore don't care how hot and sunny it gets, if it stays totally dry I shall rejoice! (nice to see WoW back where he's happiest ).

Gnomicide
I was at a festival over the weekend. You expect the cold at this time of year and can prepare for it, you may even get some sun and can prepare for that. I could be argued that you can prepare for the rain but it doesn't half put a dampener(!) on things when it starts pissing down. NFR, NFC!! caroldecker
My worrying for Glastonbury weather began in that April heatwave we had... Have we used up our summer so soon??? BEST BLOODY NOT HAVE! SUNSHINE IS BEST FOR A FESTIVAL! NO COMPROMISE! Todays forecast for around the time of glastonbury is pretty much the same as yesterdays. Looks good to me. I remain forever hopeful.
