The legendary image has to be of the canoe of 2005

It always makes me laugh that they brought the canoe with them, as if they knew it would happen!

My first year was 2007 where it rained constantly. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but there was lots of this

Sunshine of course is better, nothing beats being able to sit down on the grass and chil out.

Since we're heading for wall to wall sunshine, we should bring some over the top sunny items. Although, besides bikinis and perhaps a volley net, I cant think of anything! :(

Ah I was there in 2005, it was crazy. Our tents weren't in the best of shape anyway, and I awoke to see my dad trying to shift what can only be described as a lake from the roof and all four corners of the tent. Next doors gazebo had been apparently hit by lightning and was rather singed, ie, non-existent, (although I am dubious about this claim..) and those people who had gotten sunburn the day before were looking well p*ssed off - like their festival couldnt get any worse and it was only Friday. We stuck it out until Sunday, by which time we were that caked in mud we could barely move, and we had nothing that was dry. At all. Needless to say we still had a brilliant festival and didn't shut up about it for months (even years....) - but in hindsight freak thunderstorms like that take their toll, and thus I pray to the weathergods - No rain, no clouds - I don't even mind if it's not blisteringly hot - just please don't give us an 05 again......

I would frankly love to be able to walk around in my shitty white plimsolls all weekend last year. Turned a lovely shade of dusty brown and inherited a few holes. Makes staying in Shangri-La/Arcadia/Stone Circle until 5am so much easier when you're not wading through feet of mud.

UK Outlook for Friday 17 Jun 2011 to Friday 1 Jul 2011:

The start of the period looks to be rather unsettled, particularly across northern parts, with temperatures locally below average where rain persists. However slightly warmer and more settled conditions are likely to gradually spread from the southeast to most parts. There are still likely to be showers or longer periods of rain at times though, but these should become increasingly punctuated by drier interludes as June progresses. Temperatures across the UK will return to around average, maybe slightly above if any sunny spells persist.

They do it because they will get their picture in the papers. The Daily M**l and The Daily Ex***ss love to show articles of how terrible Glastonbury is and will always have photographers onsite if it looks likely to r**n.

We need an anti Greenland campaign to shift the high pressure that insists on staying there, it is this which has the potential to screw us over, and the whole "summer" for that matter:

DOWN WITH GREENLAND (high pressure)
