2010 was way better than 2009. The only guarantee of no rain is no clouds. 2009 on Friday was wet and cold. Fair enough Sat and Sun were good, but last year I didn't have to lug around waterproofs or wear boots. I had a wide brimmed hat with ventilation which I soaked in water regularly and drank lots of water. I'm not from the tropics, but have spent a year there. If you take precautions you can deal with the heat.

Bring on the sun. This is Glastonbury, not Abu Dhabi. What's the hottest it's going to get 28 degrees?

Keep the faith people. It still says it will be sunny. Yes, there's a chance of r**n, but there's a chance the Pope will appear on stage with Primal Scream, and we know that ain't going to happen.

Positive thoughts, and begone Frenchmen.

From Aol News just now:

Meteorologists consider June 1 to be the first day of summer and temperatures are expected to reach the mid to high 20s on Saturday, taking us into 'Flaming June' which could deliver the hottest weather we've seen for five years.

This week temperatures are expected to hit 24C in the south east and 22C in Wales, northern England and Scotland.

Forecasters predict that temperatures will stay above 21C in June and July – and could even hit 32C.

It looks likely that rainfall will continue to be below average in the second half of June in the south, which is good news for Glastonbury and Wimbledon but bad news for farmers and consumers, as food prices will increase as a result.

The Environment agency has already put together a drought plan amid fears that we're on course for a summer like 1976 – the hottest summer on record.

So it looks like it's time to get the barbecue ready for the weekend...

FOOKING FANTASTIC!!

I'll just assume that the colder weather predicted from 7th to the 12th is the lull before the heat ( ) (I just couldn't bring myself to type the word st**m..)

not that I totally understand these images...

To be fair I can't remember Friday morning in 2009, I just remember sitting down in the sunshine during Fleet Foxes and being so pleased the mud was drying. That was probably a fair bit into that afternoon

We're all going no matter what. Rain or shine..... we will make of it what we will.

This time last year there was the same amount of speculation - rain, sun, rain, sun - its was too f**king hot for me last year - still didn't ruin things, I woke up, cracked open the scrumpy, put on worthy FM and chilled with some fine smoke around the camper all day - there wasn't much I wanted to see until later in the day!

It will be a great festival, no matter what :D

I'd take hot over rain any time, I'd take scorching sunshine over even the f**king possibility of rain. I don't even want to think there might be rain.

You know where rain comes from? from clouds, that's where. You take clouds out the equation, you're guaranteed no rain, so no more of this dopey 'bit of cloud' nonsense. You people. Worse than Hitler.

With respect, posts like this on the weather thread really annoy me, yes we know we're all going but we're all hoping for good weather. Yes it wil be a great festival but it'll be better, much much better if it was dry, warm and sunny. Is that so hard to understand? If the weather doesn't bother you then why bother posting on a weather thread!!?

Anyone who complains about it being too hot last year should take a good hard look at their selfish soul and think about the billions of people who live in parts of this world where 30C + is quite normal and the vast majority of us who welcome such weather with open arms and indeed travel vast distances whenever possible to find it. You represent a tiny minority. You have had more than your share of cool/ damp/ wet Glastonburys in the last two decades. Last year was an extremely rare warm festival, and I mean warm, it wasn't even that hot, in fact it was bloody freezing by about 3am.

It's our turn B)
