Seriously, can we ban these forecasts until at least 10 days before Wednesday 22nd? As every forecaster will tell you, a small change in the modelling data can change the whole forecast completely. These images have to be taken with a massive truckload of salt.

As complete b*ll*cks goes, that one kicks the massively oversized ones .... <_<

(And it;s a an overused cliche as well. Similar to saying 'there's no such thing as rain, only liquid sunshine'.

Kill any spangled hippy who insists on that 'liquid sunshine' nonsense ... immediately

Preferably right over the head with a very intense high pressure system ....

Yeah it's a cliche but so what. You go ahead and plan your good/bad festival based on the weather before you get even get there. Mine is going to be good whatever the weather thanks to the people I'll be with and the music that will be on.

Sad f**ker.

Think it was unsettled this time last year judging by some of the comments. I'm staying positive :)

I did 97,98 & 07 and I think last year was too hot.

However, this may have been because I had raging toothache, my husband had crippling backache, and my mum was 68 (first Glastonbury) and doesn't do very well in the heat (we had to hold up the plane coming back from Greece because her feet swelled up to 3 times their normal size!) However, she also has arthritic knees that wouldn't have coped too well with mud. So, I don't think we would have done that well in any conditions last year. Anyway - as the weekend wore on we did work out how to cope better with the heat and we wouldn't struggle so much next time.

So, I do understand the principle of the thread and it clearly worked last year. Whilst I would prefer something 2008/9ish, it doesn't work like that. It has to be No Rain No Compromise, because if you wish for even a little bit of relief, even a light breeze, - then you need to prepare for the prospect of being swept away by the tide.

Anyway - exactly a fortnight before last year's Glastonbury I went to my gym and it was chucking it down, the car park was so flooded that inside the gym resembled a scene from Titanic - with water creeping up along all the corridors! I remember laughing my head off (or I would have cried) and someone asking why I was laughing. I said "I'm going to Glastonbury in 2 weeks!" All they said was "Wow! That'll be brilliant - the atmosphere there is amazing!" This memory tells me 2 things - the weather today is irrelevant as it bears no relation whatsoever to what will happen in 2 weeks time, and that the bottom line is that Glastonbury is Glastonbury!

Regardless - NRNC!

In my opinion thats not entirely true - you can draw trends from the models at the range - so whilst not necessary accurate down to specific levels it can give quite a good indicator of what the general weather may turn out like.

For example at the moment every model run is pretty much going for low pressure there or thereabouts - there definitely is time for this to change but you cannot just dismiss them outright unless your trying to use them as gospel down to detailed levels

It's going to be scorchio I can feel it in my water.

For all those people saying the weather does not matter. It bloody does. I hate having no where to sit, Dancing in heavy wellies is poo, I ended up drinking more so I'm fuzzy headed all the time in order to enjoy myself to the fullest, I get back ache from all the drudging through mud. Lighting camp fires becomes more of a ball ache, the stone circle is somewhat quieter......

Come guys get a grip SUNSHINE is Blimmin brilliant and it will be HOT HOT HOT :D
