scorp Posted June 12, 2011 Report Share Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) As some of you will be aware, these charts are updated daily: http://weather.unisys.com/gfsx/gfsx.php?inv=0&plot=hght®ion=eu&t=9p Yes there is a high to the west by the wed, but let's not forget that's a week next wed - still a very long way off in forecasting terms. if it comes to pass, though, what does it mean? depends if it stays put or where it moves to next :-) if it shifts north a bit and we end up with an unstable north westerly - by no means impossible - that was the situation on the wed and thurs of 1997 or '98. showers started then merged into the pits of a long [24 hours, give or take] heavy rainfall. i think the high will sink south or south east, because highs in that situation seem to do that quite a lot.
