As Barry said, (EMA) educational maintenance allowances paid to over 90,000 youngsters over the age of 16 from low income families will be reformed. Education pundits reckon it'll spark a mass exodus of youths from colleges and sixth forms (onto the dole queues) if it is withdrawn.

Sports teaching special status for schools to be abolished - ahhh I remember there being no sports about when I were a lad.

Loss of approx £130,000 per mid sized school (schools with specialist sports status will lose the extra cash of £129 per pupil). Justified on the grounds of costs and because the Government wants to focus on academic disciplines such as literacy and numeracy. Looks like nanny state worries about kids getting unfit and fat are over.

Edited: added per pupil

That's exactly what he's been putting to you - pragmatism.

Really? Has he?

Then perhaps you'll be able to explain what's pragmatic about denying a generation all opportunity for higher education, as he said should be the case.

If you agree with them then not all they do is ideologically driven as you have a different ideology. This literally is pragmatism.

I might agree with them due to pragmatism.

Nothing about that gives any indication whatsoever as to whether what's driving their doings is ideological or pragmatic. Anyone with more than 2 brain cells should grasp that.

So as ever you're talking bollocks. But luckily for you, there's no gender issues here to expose your bollocks quite as well as you managed yesterday.:lol::lol:

Pragmatic politics, which I've been banging on about here for years and you've disputed at every chance, is all about the end of ideology due to the net result of policy being all that counts. It's politics for the post-political age.

There is always a reason for doing anything.

Yet when policy is ideologically driven and the result of policy re-enforces that ideological position, it's always ideological.

There's nothing about what the tories are doing which is pragmatic - it's all ideologically based. Their constant lies about why we have a deficit and lack of action* against those who caused the deficit in favour of those lies makes that abundantly clear.

(* they have introduced a "bank levy" - yet the banks will pay less in tax after its introduction than they paid before, because of the cut in Corp Tax - so their claims of having taxed the banks is a smokescreen, and is 100% bullshit).

Starting to see yourself for the idiot you are ?

Instead of bleating and moaning try reading thread in full and try forming your own opinions. IF YOU DID, you wouldn't of got so much wrong above. Try reading more of the start of threads instead of entering a debate ten pages in when the usual suspects have already started their character assassination. You might actually get a more clear picture then.

YOU CLEARLY don't do enough reading... More reading less moaning says Barry Fish...

Oh, please - don't give him any more reason to play his over-used victim status card. As dreary, misguided and deluded his posts about the spending cuts are, they aren't as bad as his belief that everyone on the forum hates him.
