i liked it when RATM got the christmas no 1 because i think in 20 years time when you get these christmas no 1 chart thingys on the telly, it'll be funny remembering that RATM got it in 2009.

i'm not really that bothered about christmas no 1, although i think it would be good to actually have a christmas song for a change.

the x factor winner releases a shite song every year and it gets to no 1 regardless of it's shitness, and although people may argue that the most popular song deserves no 1, it's only popular because it's connected to a massive tv show and no one else could compete with that amount of media coverage.

it was good to give the x factor some competition, they might try harder to release a good song this year although i doubt it..

I don't see nothing wrong with Xfactor winners having a number one spot. They deserve it, if they've worked so hard for it..

and people are forgetting, these people in Xfactor have dreams too, just as much as people in rock bands.

They just have a different style in music, and can be just as talented. They're just taking a different route for people to notice them.

Bands work hard for years together. These vocalists (as vocalists and other band members do in rock bands) still spend time all their lives singing, (maybe)learning instruments, attending singing lessons and spending hours practising. Many of them chose to go on xfactor to try and get a break, and noticed for their talents.

That wasn't the winners song though was it? Am sure that was just a single released for Christmas (perhaps a charity one?)

And there definately wasn't the same hype in the UK about the 2 series of Pop Idol, that there has been for X-Factor, and definately not the same commercial success for Cowell.
