There are a number of studies that have shown that the likelihood of having an autistic child increases with the age of the father. There are other studies that show this only to be the case if the father is over 30 and the mother is not.

As far as I am aware, sperm gets made anew throughout a man;s life hence why there are some 90 year old new fathers out there that you hear of occasionally in the press.
