New Kings of Leon album

So I loved the first KOL album, with all it's southern twang and attitude, and the second album was more of the same. And then the third album had a few songs on it, but by the fourth album they had pretty much lost everything that made the first albums great.

Should I bother with the new one? I've heard a snippit of the lead single from it, and it sounds like soul-less American stadium rock with nothing of the south about it.

listen to it on spotify then decide, but as you are unsure whether to bother on the strength of the first single its unlikely you'll want to buy it.

I liked Molly Chambers and another early song then all of a sudden they started headlining festivals and were being played in cheesy clubs and I remember thinking what the f**k is going on and then people from work kept asking me about them because I know about "bands and that stuff".

I too loved the first 3 albums, not so much the 4th, tried to listen to this on spotify - its ounds like they just resumed album number four, i actually stopped listening half way through. Will give them another go but I'd suggest you spotify first even though I picked 'don't bother'. I think that may be the spotify effect in that I have not parted with my money to listen so I have found that I don't put quite so much effort into 'listening' to an album.

Really? I find that music that has the most longevity (sp) for me tends to be challenging. The lyrics especially need to make me think.

i'm the opposite. i'm singing 'ich tu dir wi' in my head just now by rammstein. not a bloody clue what it's about. but it's a quality song.

Well, that's a bit different. My German is of a good enough standard to translate German though. And Italian. And my Spanish isn't too shabby, and I'm working on my French.

Its def hard going on first listen. The more you listen to it the better it seems to get as theres a lot of subtle things going on in some of the songs. Def more laid back than all the other albums but has got some good tunes on it.

why's it any different though? for me it's all about the music. biffy's lyrics for instance are awful! but it doesn't take away from the songs. and lennon's don't particular add anything either for me.
