Hello!!

Completely taken a random punt to try Rockness just because i love festivals in general and the brilliant early price. Im an experienced festival goer so not after packing tips etc just a heads up on the vibe, what to expect, possible bands and so on and especially what times to arrive as im coming up from wigan. Cheers for any help

Firstly, congrats!

Rockness is a great festival, the atmosphere is wonderful and the general vibe is friendly laidback and then partying later on.

Look at the line up from last year to give you an idea. Its more of a dancey fest, with a few good indie bands thrown in but the indie folks I went with last year loved it.

When to arrive is difficult, what helped to make rockness special for me was strangely the thursday night in Inverness, which had loadsa bands on in the city. But the actual fest doesn't really kick off to early evening on the friday and you would have to make a trip from inverness to dores. But I think there is a bus.

Anyway, you will love the fest, the atmosphere is great, it was this board that convinced me to go last year and they were right.

Good choice of fest!

I'd advise to get there as early as possible, soak up the atmosphere and get your bearings (not that it's hard as it's not the biggest of sites).

It's a great fest and everyone there is up for a good time, IMO it's got a much friendlier feel than TITP and people are more welcoming.

Are you coming alone? If you are (or even if you aren't) there'll be a efset camp organised nearer the time where you can camp with fellow efesters. We all have a great laugh and look out for eachother and I've met some great mates through this.

Last of all, leave all your preconceptions of what it'll be like at the gate as nothing can really prepare you for your first time at Rockness, especially when you get in the arena and look down breathtaking view you get when looking at the Main Stage set on the banks of Loch Ness.
