Free the West Memphis Three

I just got an email from the wm3.org informing me that the WM3 have been granted a new hearing, after 15 years of protesting their innocence, backed by musicians and artists from all over the world.

When I first heard of the case, over 10 years ago, I followed it very closely. Then as time goes on, we have kids, we do things, and my interest became only fleeting. But this is great news, and all the time my life has been moving on, these 3 guys have been locked up for 23 hours a day, whilst being completely innocent of the crime for which they were convicted.

Its a fascinating case.

they had to enter a gulity plea to be released. jason was prepared to sit it out on his principles, but the fact that Damien was on Death Row meant he couldnt afford that "luxury"

i guess it means they cannot sue the court/justice system for wrongful imprisonment. although its probably a lot more complicated than that.
