All good points. I think Andy Copping has a tough job & last year (on the official forums) some idiots went way too far & were posting stuff that was just hateful & abusive. Completely unnecessary & I don’t believe he should have to endure some of the sh!t that he did. However, last year as the announcements kept coming, the line-up was noticeably top heavy (STP subbing whereas 09' had arena bands playing 3rd from top) & there was no news whether we'd get more than 3 bands on the mainstage Friday AC started being an arse & the moderators on the DL forums started deleting threads/posts that were neither abusive or unwarranted. The biggest issues were the 3 act mainstage & 'Them Crooked Vultures' placing, lots of people, myself included were vocal about TCV being far too high & that once the novelty of seeing the members had worn off we'd be left with an hour of uninspiring music with no big hits that would bore the masses & kill the atmosphere, and we were bang on the money. Looking back it seems obvious that the Friday situation was all down to AC/DC & AC and co. were arguing the toss with them to get them to allow the festival to put more bands on. As soon as people noticed the lack of mention of AC/DC in the programme & on the festival T-Shirts it was apparent they'd been given carte blanche to do whatever they wanted.

As someone mentioned earlier, Andy Copping has decided to make himself a public figure. I'm sure he likes the praise & likes it when people approach him at the festival for photo's, he's even got himself a cowboy hat gimmick so he's instantly recognisable. You don't see Melvin Benn or Bob Angus doing this. Surely if you put yourself 'out there' you need to take the rough with the smooth?

I think the thing with festivals is that if you fill the line up with quality and have smaller size bands at the top then you will cater for a lot more people. If you didn't like the headliners last year and you didn't want to see them you could have been put in a position where you may not justify spend the money on not only the tickets but spending money and all that goes with it.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN's much-rumored comeback/reunion tour is expected to be announced on Monday, November 29, along with details of several European festival appearances in 2011, including the U.K.'s Download.

When asked by a fan via Twitter if there is any truth to reports that SYSTEM OF A DOWN will play next year's Download festival, SYSTEM bassist Shavo Odadjian replied, "Stay tuned."
