Paulo Nutini Headlining Main Stage is actually a Health and Safety risk.

If you put Paulo Nutini headlining on the main stage at a relatively small festival like RN then if when the vast, vast majority of the crowd that buys all the tickets who arent into PN, start piling into the biggest tent with the biggest electro act and said tent cant hold them all this will turn into a nightmare for all concerned.

The same thing happened when he tried to do the same thing with a much bigger/better act (Manics) when they were up against Daft Punk and the tent was absof**kinglutely dangerously rammed wi people diving in under the sides and basically doing anything possible to get in the thing. That was with a band like the manics, imagine what it could be like wi wee Paulo?

I seriously think Jim King must have a bit of a screw loose or very short memory or couldnt really give a shite (which I doubt).

In short, Nutini should never be headlining the OUTSIDE main stage at a festival like Rockness. If he wants him on main stage he should be further down the bill. If he wants him to headline he should be in a tent.

Dont come crying to me when it all ends up like the Cambodian water festival bridge disaster...

regarding the health and safety risks, aye it was mental when daft punk played the clash tent but as far as i know, no one got hurt.

hopefully there will be decent headliners on all other stages to spread the rest of the crowd out. i think they can remove the sides of the clash tent aswell, so that would stop people trying to get in.

Not sure, I reckon Paolo Nutini could get a big crowd. Think it will be split pretty evenly depending on who is headlining the Clash tent.

Also in 2007 there was only 3 or 4 Stages over the whole site.

This year there was around 10 available and plans for similar in 2011 will help spread the crowd across the site more.

thanks for the award an all that but i'm sorry rory that other thread was full of people bitching, my thread was solely aimed at highlighting the health and safety aspect. If i can save just one person from a nasty bruise or a twisted knee then my work will be done here. I have no gripe wi nutini playin, i just think it's not a good idea to put on a main stage headline slot. There's been enough deaths at Rockness since it started, we dont need any more. In fact i think we're lucky it's even still gettin it's licence.
