Oh yeah, cheese sandwiches can be had for 1 euro.

Just checked my email as I contacted the fest last year asking about taking bottles of water in. Here is their response

This is allowed but you have to throw away the small cap of the plastic bottles.

Kind regards,

The Pukkelpop team

I have been waiting for this announcement for months. Seriously disappointed. Not a patch on the line up of recent years, and that's not just a reference to the headliners. I know there will be further names announced, but it's going to take more than 4 or 5 acts to save that Saturday!

I'm happy though - just bought Sziget tickets instead!

Bloody Barclays blocked my card for a reason that they are unable to tell me. Ticket transaction failed. Funnily enough, same thing happened last year, same response from Barclays - adamant that it's nothing to do with my trying to make a purchase on a Belgian website and insisting on sending me another card - bloody idiots. *scurries off to find an alternative payment method*

Amusingly though, the security question I was asked was - what country were you in during August last year............

For reasons listed above Im holding off until a few more names come through - mainly so that friends agree to come with me!

Who else are you expecting to see added to the lineup?

I'd be very suprised if the following weren't added between now and then

Mona

Beady Eye

The Vaccines

Devlin

Bombay Bicycle Club

Crystal Fighters

The Wombats

Funeral Party

The Kills

Still hopeful for repeat showings from Biffy Clyro and Mumford... may be in vein :(

As per previous years, I'm pretty underwhelmed by this announcement. I'm not overly concerned though as they haven't let me down yet and (fingers crossed) it's not going to happen this year. The nagging doubt I have though is that there is nothing in this announcement that has given me the 'WOW', factor. I'm looking forward to seeing quite a few of the DJs and bands that will most likely play in the Dance Hall, Boiler and Chateau but most of them I could probably catch without too much effort in the next 12 months or so where I live. I'm pleased that Birdy Nam Nam, Andy C, The Subs, Netsky and Skream and Benga (who have now represented either on their own or together for 5 PPs in a row) are all back and Emalkay, Camo and Krooked, Untold, and Danny Byrd will all be superb.

This was pretty much my feeling Semprini, in fact the only band that I havent seen that I would want to see are Sebadoh and Wu Lyf, everything else is a bit, Meh. I mean deus!! Why did it have to be deus!!

Pretty gutted to miss the festival, as its always a great weekend, but the thinking between me and DiscothequeDave is that we may opt for Sziget instead, this year. However the second announcement could be, Led Zep, Bowie, Roxy Music, Strokes, Stone Roses (stop me if im showing my age).......though it will probably be Snow Patrol...

last year I had 3 days of full programm, 10 - 12 bands per day. this year, all these rock and punk bands turn me off. my only WOWs are Blonde Redhead, The Horrors, The Raveonettes and Mount Kimbie and Bonobo. Warpaint and Yuck are great as well, but they play every festival this summer. Usually Pukkelpop has by far the best line up of the year. this year there seems to be too much rock and indie bands like f.e. Elbow or like last year Chapel club or the National are missing.

Still don't know about Pukkelpop this year. If I'd live near, then no question about that, but with a long journey, there might be other festivals instead (f.e. Frequency Festival with chemical brothers, interpol, the national, kasabian, the kooks, elbow, k's choice, the vaccines and many more).

how long does it usually take for the second announcement? a few weeks? is there an early sold-out-danger (are people so attracted to eminem?)

Good. Someone tell them to stop messing around and announce Aphex Twin + Leftfield in the next batch so I can buy my ticket.

**Upon further inspection Aphex Twin is playing in Copenhagen on the 20th and Lowlands on the 19th, so it'd have to be Thursday the 18th or not at all. Three days in row seems unlikely given RDJ's history :(

That statement on the site is a little ambiguous isn't it? Nowhere does it say it's coming close to selling out, only that it might sell out "sooner than expected". Since most people on here (and there) seem to think it won't sell out this year at all, then "sooner than expected" could be just one day before...

The wording does imply that the day tickets for Thursday and Friday are running low, which could make sense: all those Foo Fighters fans with no interest in Eminem, and all the Eminem fans with no interest in the Foos. But what percentage of the 62,500 places each day are sold as day tickets? As a guess, I'd reckon it's about 3 x 20,000 day tickets, plus 42,500 weekenders, which could mean there are many weekend tickets still available...

Or not.

Like I say, I'm just guessing though. I've got no idea really, honest.

And I've got my tickets, so I don't actually care! :D
