Frank Turners new album is really good. Up for a bit of the Charlatans and Frankie and the Heartstrings are good as well. House of Pain Jump around and Chase and Status End Credits are songs i want to catch without being arsed about the rest of teh set :)

Regarding lanyards for band times, try asking a friendly type who's got one if you can have a look at there's, then take some photos of it using your camera phone and voila.... £7 saved!!

I'm not a tight arse normally but I refuse to pay them out of principle.... especially as you get the times for nothing at places like Glastonbury and Isle of Wight.

Not going this year, really loved it last time though, enjoy y'all :D

I can't find the definitive answer to this question anywhere....

After going to Glastonbury I've got tickets to kendal calling with my friends, it's a first time for me at Kendal and I can't find anywhere in the rules whether you're allowed to go back to your car for supplies and re-enter. On the website it says under a heading "Pass Outs" - "No, except in extenuating circumstances. If you have booked accomodation out of the festival then please call in to the box office for a passout!" So does that mean I won't be able to go to my car for beer/food etc I have to carry everything I need on the way in?

I'm already gutted that we're not allowed to drink our own beer in the arena (although I understand how this helps build revenue) but if I'm not allowed to go back to my car then I'm going cry right now!

Does anyone know the answer?

Thanks guys and gals

Hello bud, im on site now and theres quite a few people heading back to the car with trollies so cant imagine its that big an issue. Gotta say the emporers field is the way to go, car next to tent and just set up at a relaxing pace. Im used to the glastonbury torment of 2 to 3 trips to the car.

Ok, so my mate is there already and has said that you can only bring in booze in your firts trip. No going back for booze. If this is the case i'm f**king furious. I am a grown woman, not a f**king child who needs to be told where I can and can't take booze. I knew about this arena rule but if this bullshit rule is true about only one load of booze to come in then the organisers and this festival is a f**king disgrace and it will be the first and last time I will be going to Kendal Calling.

Should maybes rename it deathtrap thursday ! Getting from emperors field to only area in arena open is a nightmare. Stewards wont let u thru the main arena and send u off thru the pitch black for around 400 yards, climbing under taped off areas to get through. Hardly any lighting away from the emperors field or the main arena which you cant get in to. Wouldnt be too bad if you werent wandering through grass with rocks, divvits, branches and roots sent to trip you over ! Roll on tonorrow when the full site opens, hopefully ! Wouldnt take any notice of the 9pm arrival curfew either, people are still arriving now and its nearly midnight

The La's were magnificent. My moment of the festival when they played Looking Glass last. Grown men weeping.

Thought it was a really great weekend, edged last year for music or perhaps I just dropped lucky. Highlights for me in the Calling Out were La's (obviously), I Am In Love (never heard of them before but thought they were awesome for the noon set, mad passionate singer, never seen a singer crying during a song before !), The Lamps Expire (moody bass-y stuff), Lets Buy Happiness, Frankie and the Heartstrings, Took a mixed ages bunch to see Mickey P Kerr and I should have known better, great laugh (started forgetting his material when he hit the bottle tho) but the kids were swearing for the rest of the afternoon. Bunnymen great, playing loads of old stuff, Blondie bang on, and the wife got a drumstick, Middleman, Summer Camp, Airship, I could go on.

Missed the 2pm Friday drink by and hour, but we did try to make up for it with some meaty beer breakfasts in the Holy Quail

That was a blinding festival. For me it was my favourite one out of past 4 years going of going.

Everybody was amazing, no rowdy pissed up teenagers (despite camping in rowdy site by accident), security were nice and friendly, tons of choice of music to boogie on down to.

Can't even start to list my highlights - danced 12 hours solid every day :D

Will definately be on my list of festivals to attend next year.

Thanks to the organisers - you really pulled it off this time B)

A cracking weekend....highlights for me were The Whip/The Milk/Frankie & The Heartstrings on Friday, Easy Star All Stars/The Cribs on Saturday whereas Sunday was absolutely bloody awesome for me...Hugh Cornwell, Frank Turner, The Levellers & Blondie were amazing.

However, the highlight of the weekend was Vintage Trouble...they were good enough to headline on Friday instead of "Chase and f@#king Status"! They managed to get a small crowd on Sunday lunchtime into a real frenzy.

I might be able to claim the most obtuse reason for going to see a performance.....me & the missus went to see Jaspar on the Calling Out stage cos we were missing out dog called Jasper!! He actually turned out to be ok!!

A couple of performers to look for in the future...Hannah Trigwell & Rae Morris....both playing at their first festival and were in awe of the reception they were given "are you all really hear to see me?" said Rae Morris "is there nothing else on?"

And one final thing....I need to apologise to someone who I think is from the forum....If you tried to introduce yourself to me on Friday lunchtime, please accept my apologies....a bit too much alcohol Thursday night/Friday morning had blurred my senses....I wasnt being rude, I just wasnt expecting anyone to walk up to me & introduce themselves!! Hope you had a cracking weekend!!
