To b fair guns n roses are not a massive headliner in their current state.

They still gt paid 1.5 mil for the festival.

Reading's fee's often get reported wrong. I remember the media reporting that The Darkness were getting a million when I know for a fact that they only got £600,000.

Would be a waste of a slot in my opinion.

Not relevant enough, not big enough (in the states maybe, but they're no where near headlining status for a festival the size of Download over here)

Last year The Libertines were reported to have been paid £1million per show for second on the bill? unless you work in the accounts department at a festival how does anyone know? as most of the speculated ammounts are never usually denied as it's probably good for the bands ego eg AC/Dc to be reported as earning £3 million for one show wether it's true or false.

Although i don't mind a bit of V.H i don't know if they are a big enough "current" headliner or have as many well known songs to stimulate a crowd for 2 hours?

They were indeed one of the acts he said were not playing in 2011

I don't think that information is correct. Reading always talk with their wallet which why they can get gigantic headliners. They haven't paid under a million for a headliner for years.

I know they've been paying over £1M for quite a while, but don't forget that the fest is getting two shows out of a band for that money - so £750k per show for GnR could well be right.
