I believe it's sold out on a couple sites like Ticketmaster. I think they insisted on the majority being made available on their website via Ticketweb.

Oh and they have added a US date to their "only show of 2011"

Okay my new gut feeling is Van Halen.....but also what about 'Tool' and then just have the classic day on the 2nd stage which Whitesnake could headline - then everyones happy!

This Van Halen rumour has come out of nowhere. Surely it can only be them or Tool/Pearl Jam.

If they can't announce the 3rd headliner for a few more weeks, they should announce more bands regardless.

Who in the right mind realy thinks it's either Monowar or Queen this is just stupid.

Manowar may play around 4pm-5pm on the second stage that would be about it.

Who wants to go see queen at download (not me that's for sure)

I still think it will be one of Iron Maiden/Ozzy/Foo Fighters or Pearl Jam (i hope for any one of these)

Rob Zombie has posted on the web dates for next year that he is playing download on the Sunday so that's the second stage headliner i would guess

So who is in line to headline the second stage on the Friday ? as i believe avenged sevenfold are doing the saturday

Pretty sure pendulum are a second stage headliner. Theyve self confirmed, played 3rd on main last time, cant see them playing any higher on main and andy copping said when he went to see them last month how amazing their light show was, so id imagine he want to have that at download too.

I cant see them putting Avenged Sevenfold on at the same time as either Linkin Park or SOAD. If Pendulum are headlining second stage itll be Saturday but I could see them subbing to LP.

I think Nickelback are a possibility, especially seeing as AC was bigging them up on Twitter & the response from people was surprisingly (or not surprising if you've seen Nickelback live) positive. I'm going for Pearl Jam, possibly with Soundgarden & Alice in Chains beneath them. We know that AC asked Pearl Jam when they played Hyde Park, we know that it's Pearl Jam's 20th Anniversary & they're doing festivals (in the US at least). With Alter Bridge & Gaslight Anthem (supported PJ at Hyde Park) heavily self confirmed/rumoured you've got a mainstage bill right there. Having Rob Zombie headline 2nd on the Sunday would give people a decent alternative to PJ too.

I still reckon it could be Red Hot Chili Peppers, theres not many UK festivals left they could play, perhaps Wireless.

Really hope Smashing Pumpkins have been booked as a sub headliner after AC said he'd only book them in that position, but im leaning more towards RHCP, would Pumpkins sub RHCP? or think they're too mainstream to play under?

Hope Queens of the Stone Age fir in somewhere too, but I don't think they're ever going to play Download for some reason, AC just must not think they'd fit, or Josh must not want to play.

I get the feeling that this announcements going to feature a fair few bands, to try and get ahead of Soni

When they say a HUGE announcement, it may mean a huge number of bands rather than a particular huge band

And I don't see why everyone's in such a rush for announcements

Last year the first announcement wasn't until late January if I recall correctly, and we didn't get all the headliners until March

copping has twitter, if he uses it properly, he doesnt need to dig himself a hole. he need headlines for the website etc, but he can be a bit more specific on twitter, ie - "a headliner and a few bands"
