sifi
Sad news. He was utterly brilliant in criminal justice.
Purple Monkey
Incredibly sad. He made great films even better and made bad films watchable. As amazing as he is in his films, I thought his best performances were still to come. RIP.
bunique
Don't usually get sad at the passing of schlebs, but Pete Postlethwaite was just brilliant and so watchable whatever he was in. Agree about Criminal Justice, he was awesome. Have to dig out a few films this week.

worm
It's refreshing to see someone of note rather than fame getting a fond farewell.
Steve P
Really sad news. His speach at the end of Brassed Off always has me in tears. RIP

When Jokers Attack
RIP - In The Name Of The Father is one of my favourite films of all time.
The Nal
Get your rest, Gentlemen. The boat will be ready for you on Friday. If I see you or any of your friends before then, Ms Finneran will find herself the victim of a most gruesome violation before she dies. As will your father, Mr. Hockney. And your Uncle Randall in Arizona, Mr. Kint. I might only castrate Mr. McManus's nephew, David. Do I make myself clear?

windy_miller
I saw him in a pub in Bristol once. He was sat by himself drinking a pint of Guinness. RIP, he was a great actor.
rexclark
I can't say I've watched that many films with him in it but I loved him in The Usual suspects.
fraser_k
If anyone hasn't seen Brassed Off, watch it, if not only for it being a great film that it is but for it's great historical picture of what it was like for communities like the one portrayed in the film during the miner's strike and problems the pits closing done. RIP Pete Postlethwaite.
