Risteardo
I could see that happening. Never seen her live before, so yeah, I'd be pleased with that.
shoebox
Oooooh, Polly, if that was the case, I might just explode! Got the new Tapes 'n Tapes album yesterday, sound good so far. They could do a job at EOTR for sure...
Risteardo
I haven't listened to The Loon for AGES. Loved that album. Might have to stick it on later.
shoebox
I love The Loon, but the follow-up to it was just plain awful. Can't even remember it's name. But the new one, Outside, sounds like it could be a return to form. Here's hoping...
shoebox
They've just Tweeted to say that band news is coming later. How much later, I don't know. The Somerset Cider Bus has been confirmed though.

shoebox
Good news about The Somerset Cider Bus: their new album is a big advance and live, they're not the flabby monster My Morning Jacket are in danger of becoming plus they don't back-project those irritatingly distracting home movies a la Midlake during their shows. Risteardo
Oh well - is that it. Roll on headliner no.
shoebox
Beirut, for me, are just one of those bands unfortunate to have one AMAZING song and the rest of their catalogue just pales in comparison. Very pleased with the announcement of Gruff though. Had a feeling he'd be there this year, so properly looking to seeing him.
Splainc
Beirut is a bloody amazing headliner (and for whoever said roll on no. 3 Beirut is the first headliner)!!!!!
staffop
Saw Beirut at Greenman last year and they were great. Wooden Shjips are also great live - not sure if they'll be able to match the Monotonix set from 2010 though!

SweepingTheNation
Surely Midlake are bigger than Beirut anyway? Gruff, obviously, but Perfume Genius is a big one here, and everyone says tUnE-yArDs is amazing live.
ljsawyer
Slightly disappointed with this announcement, but Perfume Genius and Wooden Shjips should be excellent.
RedRockRick
Hmmm. Truly underwhelmed by this announcement. Nothing remotely there I'd say to persuade any of my mates who won't camp and weren't coming to change their minds. Cider Bus remains biggest announcement today. (thumbs down smiley, if I could find one!) Almost on a par with James Blunt announced as headliner at Guilfest. OK, only kidding.
wackojackohighcliffe
stll lacking any of my favourite bands - waiting for one.
ljsawyer
I guess it didn't really help that we built it up with the possibility of Sufjan Stevens, PJ Harvey or The Magnetic Fields headlining, but none of the other bands announced really stand out much either. I think we need an eclectic and acclaimed live act like Menomena, Destroyer, Titus Andronicus, or Why?
Splainc
Midlake, John Grant, Joan As Police Woman, Beirut, Doug Paisley, Micah P Hinson, Mountain Man, Twin Shadow, Wild Beasts and Willy Mason is a pretty good start I have to say. Also the first act announced last year was Caitlin Rose who I didnt even know until the July before the 2010 EOTR and turned out to be one of my must sees by the time September arrived so a little faith in the bookings is always required. Robin Bird
Hmm - this line-up was pretty good last year ... at the Green Man. Seriously though good bands but we've pretty much seen them all before haven't we, slightly underwhelming so far ...
thespiral
Hmmmm. Got to say pretty surprised at Beirut headlining. Garden Stage ?? Not seeing it myself as a headline act but hey I'm sure they have their fans. Tickets booked - just waiting for some more names that make me go ...YEAH BABY ! Is it really only mid January Need some sunshine now
seadragon
I have to agree with several people here...I'm totally underwhelmed by todays announcements. This is the first chance I've had to look and see who was announced having contained my excitement all day and I admit my first reaction was 'oh is that it?' Nevertheless I bought my ticket straight after last year's festival and the first round of announcements had enough bands in it to make me more than happy so I'm not really complaining. I always make a point of seeing a lot of bands I've not listened to before at EOTR and I've never been let down so I'm still very much looking forward to it all the same. I was just expecting much more from today's announcement given the huge build up, that's all. Edited January 13, 2011 by seadragon
