This thread needs fresh Jessie videos! :)

Prior to watching this I had only listened to "Do it like a dude", and my opinion was it was another hateful candypop song that had been beaten to death with the autotuner like all pop drivel these days.

Then I started listening to this, and thought, well fair enough, she actually has a reasonable voice.

And then she started f**king about doing whiney voices and the hideous grunting and deep breathing sounds that singers seem to do in order to try to sound like a better singer, and I had to stop the video before I put my fist through the monitor.

So now, I once again think that the music industry has found another bland, generic artist to sound like every other bland, generic artist they push out of their bland, generic music studios that will be forgotten in less than 3 years by her bland, generic listeners. There is nothing unique, interesting or talented in this music.

There are zillions of young british female artists around at the moment who have gone big in last 5 years. Some I can list off top of my head - Laura Marling, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Amy Macdonald, La Roux, Ellie Goulding, Florence, Bat for Lashes, Corrine Bailey Rae, Jessie J, Katy B, Lily Allen, KT Tunstall, Little Boots, Duffy, Jamelia, Kate Nash, Pixie Lott, Marina & the Diamonds, Paloma Faith, Rumer. I'm sure I have missed loads off that list

I would say that when you put all them names together it shows how many there are and they are just the British one. Jessie J will do very well not to be another Kate Nash and be fading back into the wilderness in 2 years time.

I don't like Jessie J but i can't believe i can see soo many people arguing about her!

It filters out the people so i can have my fun ;)

And everyone was into manufactured pop at some point! I'm glad the kids had somewhere they really enjoyed, and i saw it on the BBC best of, the kid she pulled up on stage must have had the time of her life! She really went for it and she's gonna have awesome memories of it.

Lets not forget, the farm is a diverse site, and just because some trash (in my humble opinion) is onsite doesn't mean we can't have fun! :D

Plus, next G i'm probably gonna be helping my mate and his misses look after their daughter, and for her benefit will probably end up at sets like this. Ahh well, i'll just save my energy for the naughty corner :P

On the Glasto scorecard Jessie J got an average score of 6.1 out of 10 amongst those who rated her.

My guess is that there'll be a few haters in there who didn't see her but it's still not great.

nope

Music Of Black Origin

which, if we want to be honest, is just about every type of modern (ie, the last hundred years or so) music

if someone shouldn't get an award because of their race, or colour, wouldn't that be more of a worry?

Well yeah, I am not really bothered by it tbh.

I just thought the MOBOs....were more...rap and such if your going to include Jessie J like you said shouldn't anything basically modern be included ?:P

rap...? and such??

that's music of black origin to you?

I think he meant rap and such were what the MOBO's were for, as if it actually was for all music of black origin then it would apply to a lot more genre's than it does.

Personally I don't really know much about the MOBO's, not gonna change my opinions on an artist if they win one or not.

I'm quite sure the Mobos were not originally aimed at middle of road stage school pop. The colour of the singer is irrelevant in the debate, Aretha Franklin she ain't

Though that is someone I'd love to see at Glasto!

Heard she's started doing shows again, if she's still in good health in 2013 would be an brilliant contender for the legends slot.

I would say that Aretha is probably too big and too influential for the legends slot, I could see her more in a Stevie Wonder Sunday night slot

Jessie J is pop gash for the kids. The mobos are no more credible than the brit awards. There is nothing to worry about here.

What is worrying that there has been an utter lack of decent music coming through in the last 5 years.

Sure there are a few bits and bobs around, but I cant remember music ever being in such a bad state as it is now.
