According to bmi I am now only 5lb overweight but I personally feel I need to lose another 10lb to a stone in order to be back to my fighting weight.

It's race for life this Sunday and I have raised an amazing £170 which is far more than I ever thought I would and I am thankful to have such generous friends and family.

If I complete the run in anything less than 38 minutes I will be happy as that's how long it took me to run 5k earlier this year. I know that probably doesn't sound like a respectable time to any runners but for me it will be fantastic if I can manage it!!

I have become a little bit addicted to the gym/exercise and the bloke bought me a posh new bike a couple of weeks back so I have really been getting into mountain biking. I still don't have thighs like beyonce though, even after all this running, cycling and swimming :-(

Mum is still doing fine and taking the treatment in her stride :-)

Thanks for your kind words guys.

  • 2 months later...

fuck it, I've decided to 'get in shape' once again. Now back up to 10st 11, no idea how it's gone back up again. I think going back to drinking regular coke again didn't help urghh... I'm just gonna drink water from now on, luckily my college course requires some physical work (normally like 1-2 hours a day). The days that I'm not at college I will be doing 15 mins of extreme cardio to increase my metabolism even more.. then I might do some weights and ab exercises

In 6 months times I might post some pictures of my new sexy bady just for a treat. ;)

Sorry for the shameless plug, but I am a regular user of the forum (granted, mainly in a lurking capacity)

Basically I lost 7 stones & now I'm a Weight Watchers leader who blogs about it at www.watchingdansweight.com

I'm always more than happy to help anyone on here if they are struggling, just drop me a line :-)

I feel absolutely gutted. I had a medication change a bit ago and I have been craving food like no ones business. I have put on over 3 stone. The Gp has put me on Orlistat to boost the weight loss. Amazed how low in fat my diet is. With this stuff you can tell as it blocks absorption of a third of the fat to come out the other end. I was telling the gp that the food cravings can be worse than alcoholic cravings and he thought I was joking.

The contraceptive pill I was on was massively increasing my appetite. I couldn't stop and agree with rufus it was the strongest craving I have ever had in my life!! At the start of this year I had done well but the munching won in the end and I am now back to being (I feel) about 2 stone over weight. I have come off the pill about a month ago so once that all settles down I am hoping losing weight will be much easier - my appetite has certainly settled down now anyway.

My bloke bought me a zumba game for the Kinect for my birthday so I am hoping that might kick start me into action ;-)

It's is a a few issues that causes a vicious circle with me. I have gout, arthritis, overweight and mental health issues. All of them are linked and I chose a medication to help with one (I won't say what medication as I am in court to see more of my daughters, and my ex is STILL reading my posts). That has had a knock on effect for the other. I ended up on my arse for a bit, but have a good plan ahead.

I hate to play the genetics card, but all cinicians have brought it to light. Compared to my dad I am small and he is smaller than me, not to mention Uncles etc. All in active jobs etc. I think drink was a factor in that, maybe like that for me (not now though).

But I have my grrrr back in my life :)
