Benicassim Camping?

Guest AdamSheff

Hi, we are going to Benicassim this year and was wondering what its like to camp?? We was at Glasto last year, the weather was boiling, making our tent an oven.

I am aware than Benicassim will be hotter than Somerset in July so was wondering if anyone had any tips to keep us from melting in our tent???

You always see tents with the sun refecting sheets over them but does it actually work??

Ive read on some camping websites to "leave your windows and doors open!!". Thats ok if your in chuffing Mabelthorpe but probably not in Spain.

Any tips and advice would be great.

Been looking at hotels but its £500 id rather not spend.

Thanks.

Camp in the shade as best you can, or rig up a tarp to offer some shade. Like this, set it up facing the sun rise! They're only £25-30 with the poles.

Try pegging "space blankets" (the kind they give people at the end of Marathons) to the outside of your tent to reflect the morning sun. Other than that it's going to be a hot one, but yeah, if you can leave the odd zip open to try and create a draft, that'll help.

If your getting a new tent hunt out a cotton one, not only do they last longer if they are looked after but the breathe better and are cooler in the sun, they are also warmer in the winter due to being a bit thicker and they do weigh and cost a bit more.

I used a cotton tent and some tarps and was fine, just remember the more or poorly positioned tarps the less wind/circulation.

The heat is the mornings in unbearable - usually wakes you up about 8 or 9. Best thing to do is try getting an area in the shade or...as soon as you get up, go into town, find a shaded area and get some kip. Although it doesn't sound great, I didn't find it that bad looking back.

Camping is intense but its the best option, so much happens after the bands stop playing.

Regarding which camp site different people will advise different ones (there are two) so ill jsut give you my opinion.

We stayed in the one next to the arean which meant a few things

a) there was a long walk in the morning to the beach

B) we had enough showers for everyone, which you will love when its 30+ outside

c) after the last act has finished you are right next to your accommodation and dont have to walk all they way back to the campsite which is nearer the beach (its not actually that near)

So only downside i would say of staying at the camp near the arena is that you have the long walk to town/beach in the morning, in a group it will take 30 mins but its quite nice to do that everyday as you can use real toilets, charge phone, atm ect ect

So all in all i say definitely camp and the showers are your saviors in the morning

Hot, hot, hot!! Went in 2007 and the campsite was deffo where the party was at but the heat was shocking! Think Glasto last year times ten!! At least you can head down the beach as soon as the sun comes up! Oh and with ALDI (or LIDL, cant quite remember!!) next to the campsite its perfect for some cheap booze and tucker!x

It is surprisingly cold at night until the sun rises and the music stops v.late compared to British festivals so its a fact u will not get much sleep. You will be woken up by the sauna like heat but i would advise getting one of these so you can just role out of bed into some kind of shade with a breeze. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coleman-Classic-Awning-Grey/dp/B0030BG9TW/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_1 for the price they are a life saver.

Hi Guys, Quick question I wonder if any of you can help me with.

I've been going to Beni for 4 years already, but browsing through the website this year it is saying that 'Both campsites will be open Monday 11th - Monday 18th'

This brings up 2 issues...

1. Will the Campsite be kicking out on the Monday this year as apposed to the Tuesday of past years.

2. Will CampFIB be opening on the Monday, as usually BeniCamp opens Monday, CampFIB Tuesday.

I've emailed fiberfib but havent had a reply, was wondering if any of you guys know for sure?

For the topic-starter, apart from camping on the festival campsite and the appartment, you can also go to a private campsite. My first year i went to the festival campsite and nearly died of the heat and the lack of shade. So now I am always camping on Bonterra and its heaven! It's still really close to the festival campsite near the beach, it has a swimming pool, a loooot of showers and a lot of trees and during the festival there's a lot of fibers there too.

The cheapest placed are still fairly big and have a lot of shade!

Same boat as everyone else. After searching for weeks for an apartment, we have decided to man up and get camping. Few questions if anyone could help out.

1. Anywhere to buy tents over in Spain as Ryan Air are quite expensive with adding to luggage ?

2. Anyone know of the advantages of Villa Camp ?

3. Am i gonna die in the heat ? ha ha

By the way, i was looking at the family camp site and got quoted 260 for a pitch with 6 amp electricity. On the email they did ask if i was a festival goer to remember to respect other users.
