the "who would you HATE to play" thread

Who is/are the band you would HATE to see on the line-up, who you would look at every time and palm the face at the thought. Everyone has one, or more than one.

Right now I'm really not digging the people who want RHCP, I'm not a fan, I like maybe one song, and that's because its catchy. Also if I ever saw Nickleback on the bill I'd probably throw up.

They're my opinions, what're yours.

I'd only really apply that question to the final headliner, but RHCP without doubt. I quite like them on record, but I've seen them live a few times and they've always been absolute rubbish. It would disappoint me if they were the third headliner. And also ... deep breath ... I don't want Van Halen either.

Any of those bands like All Time Low, You Me At Six and whatever the others are called that all blend into one annoying mess.

RHCP used to be incredible live and known for their live shows over their albums. I'm sure they have it within them to be good again, as disappointing as THAT Reading set was.

I was also pleasantly surprised when dragged along to see Nickelback (don't tell anyone).

I'm not saying I want them to play, as it would be a waste of a headline slot, but they aren't by any means the worst options!

I try not to think like this due to managing to talk myself out of festivals, that with hindsight when you look at them again there's easily 20 odd bands on the bill i'd watch!

I'll side with the majority though on rhcp, I don't want to see a good band play mediocre songs, jam their tits off and miss out all the good stuff!

It's nice to see the consensus on RHCP, the bf loves them and he'd like to see them, but they aren't for me. I quite like Nickleback but they'd be a waste at Download, much more fit to some of the other festivals.

RHCP - Unless their live shows have massively improved.

Other than that I'm not too bothered, there's usually enough options that I don't mind some duds on the bill. Plus it's a bit mean spirited to say you don't want smaller bands there, they're not hurting anyone, unless they're in a headlining slot in place of better options.

Also, Spwan, take your Weezer hate elsewhere, I would be delighted if they played, best live performance I saw in 2010.
