Benj
So everyone noticed the Is This It and Resistance bits but failed to notice that Teenagers is an MCR song?
Dan R
I said that last year about Arcade Fire. I think MCR are a more popular band than Arcade Fire especially with the R&L demographic, so I think it'll probably happen. And plus Neil seems sure, and when Neil seems sure he's not normally wrong. Benj
...They are bombed too badly for the festival to book them in a headline slot - they won't sell tickets.
jump
Yeah, but the big difference between between booking Arcade Fire and MCR (quality aside) which has already been mentioned loads. Arcade Fire was an inspired booking as they were about to release a new album which they predicted was going to make them massive, MCR have released their new album and it's shown that they've past their peak. Then add in the fact that MCR have already toured their album twice in the UK I think, not sold them out, had their new album do poorly in terms of sales, all before the line-up is announced. It'd be a very risky booking with little chance of working out well for the festival imo.

Benj
Secondly, in who's opinion has MCR's new album shown that they're past their peak? A quick look at Wikipedia shows that it gained mainly favourable reviews, even if it didn't achieve massive sales.
j-j-j-j-joe!
I'd just like to point out that The Suburbs knocked Eminem off the top spot in the charts. Not even Tom Jones did that. MCR got to about ten, if I remember correctly.

ArcticMonkeys333
Could you possibly say the genre's of the headliners ? For example if the headliners were Muse, Strokes and let's say Kanye West. Rock,Alternative and Hip-Hop
Joshuwarr
You can't get in trouble if you say who ISN'T headlining surely? As long as either Pulp or Suede play somewhere I'll be happy!
