gratedenini
Just heard. Gutted. One of my favs--and absolutely great live. His tone and feel were always top class. He only lasted two days after Pheno went... really sad. den

grumpyhack
I checked it out on Google News and found various reports. The best was from the Brighton Argus headlined "Hove Rock Star Found Dead." Apparently in recent years he'd lived in Hove though he died on holiday in the Costa del Sol. He'd not been a member of Thin Lizzy for a while. Maybe not the time to mention it but if you ever get a chance to catch Limehouse Lizzy they're a superb tribute band and very entertaining in the own right. 5co77ie
I was a fan of his Skid Row era - I only have his 'Grinding Stone' album - but will dust off the stylus to listen to it again in a minute. Not one I expected to go to the big gig in the sky so soon. RIP Gary Moore
t8yman
Gutted, I worshipped him as a guitarist in my youth and still listened to him fairly regularly, in fact I played his greatest hits album last weekend. RIP Gary.

gratedenini
Slightly off tangent--but, I dont know why.. I just am so uncomfortable when I see RIP at the end of death things. I really haven`t a clue as to why--but I cant stand it. Maybe you should have to know the person...I dont know. I never use it. I dont want it when I die...and I`ll know about it... I`m going to have a Gary Moore Night--prob on wed/thurs (giro day= vodka). Well--maybe not wednesday cos the footy is on..so thursday then. I will buy a new packet of joss sticks in his Honour and put me Les Paul rather ceremomiously in the guitar stand and put his stuff on shuffle. Aye. Anybody else? den
The Nal
Sad news indeed. A fantastic guitarist and an Irish music legend. Anyone hear any word on how he died yet? “In his sleep” is all I can find.

The Nal
Apparently he did a Jimbondo... been out on the lash.. fell asleep and choked on his carrot cake. That could have been me the state I was in on Saturday night. So--he hadn`t been ill or owt... just one of those things. Seems to be the guitaists curse eh. He is the first guitarist who I`ve been really into who`s died tbh. Although I love Hendrix... I was only 12 so he hadn`t yet "taken over me". Rory G-- well--brilliant yeah--but I wasn`t massively into him at the time..same as SRV..got into him more after he died. Ah.. Roy Buchanan.. I really liked him--he died in a sad way too. Things are not looking too good for Santana amd Alvin Lee at this rate... den
gratedenini
So he did a Bonzo on it? f**k. What a waste.
Carpetburn
I had the fortune to see him in the "Black Rose" line up of Thin Lizzy in 1979 at Hammersmith Odeon as it was then(my first ever gig (gulp)). He was an extremely talented player. John Barry and Gary Moore gone in the same week. Sad
