Blink had a massive crowd at Reading, bigger than GNR, but I've noticed that the Sunday night headliners generally do. I put this down to a larger majority of Sunday day tickets (as opposed to the other two days) going to 'daytrippers' who tend to hang around the main stage and also anyone not bothered about who to see on the last night will naturally gravitate towards the main stage as they want to see a big event to round off the weekend.

I disagree, last year blink had one of the biggest crowds of the weekend (admittedly that's likely if you're a headliner) and they broke the merchandising sales records at R&L. Have to be pretty popular to do that :/

That's an impossible statistic to judge.. with what I assume is part merchandise sold per day, of course more people are gonna buy more on the last day.

Yes but that just goes to show where blink 182 lie in comparison to other headliners. The biggest bands like foos, green day, oasis, blur, kol etc do arena tours and a few days later you will struggle to get a seated ticket never mind a standing one. In terms of popularity blink 182 are in the bottom half of recent headliners just as mcr are. Doesnt mean they dont deserve the slot, fact is the huge bands who have a pedigree of big selling albums, tours and festival headline slots cost a lot of money.

If the general consensus of opinion is unfavourable towards MCR, part of me thinks we're all going to be very disappointed by wednesday if they're not announced as headliners for either of the festivals.

yeah TITP are tomorrow at 11, and their tickets go on sale friday.

if they arent headliners for T, then they wont be for R&L...

I really cant see MCR headlining Download, seeing as them and Linkin Park both headlined in 2007. Would be like RHCP and Razorlight headlining this year for example, for the fans it would be a poor repetitive choice. Those two headlining again is just asking for Download fans to head to Sonisphere!

There is no way MCR will be headlining TITP, there could be a small chance they'll headline Download but I'd still say the biggest cahnce will them headlining R&L. Hopefully we'll know by the end of the week either way.

I'd think not, can't see why Melvin would share a headliner with T, especially when it's a band the level of MCR.

If they aren't headlining T, then they still aren't headlining Reading which in itself is a victory for common sense.

TITP and R&L share headliners all the time, Kings Of Leon and Rage being two recent examples. In saying this I really don't think MCR will headline T, the backlash from the T fans would be ten times worse than fans on here.
