Vaping

I'm still learning how to get the best of mine at the moment. the vanilla stuff is great, i like it more than the baccy one, but I am still working out wether the long deep draw is better than the french draw etc etc etc. ordered some ry4 which is widely regarded as the juice of choice.

I inhale slowly with a long sustained draw. It may be a brand specific thing though depending upon model type. You get lovely big plumes this way on a Gamucci. They're immensely satisfying and I'm a heavy ex smoker who used to finish a rolly in about three or four swift, angry draws.

as the wormster confirmed - it transfers the need onto the ecig. I am genuinely impressed with the build quality, and the amount of info out there on vaping. she will basically get her fix from the ecig, and no - there is no smell, I vaped a good 10 draws on mine in the car yesterday, with my mate sat next to me, and he said he couldnt smell a thing. there is no flame, just vapourising of an "e-liquid" or "juice".

its quite confusing, theres a lot of jargon, but after a day or so of casual internet research I know my atties from my passthroughs.

the one I bought might not look very pretty, but the uk "vaping community" are raving about it due to its ease of use. its the tornado tank, I bought it from

here and if you use the code T4BE699 at checkout you will get a 7.5% discount, I used special delivery (which wiped out my discount basically) and it was here at 9am the next day.

you need to understand, the atomisers are "semi disposable" and can cost up to a tenner each but if you know what you are doing you can get them for as low as £2, they are basically a heating element, and liable to burn out, apparently they can last from 2-16 weeks. although they are guaranteed for 28 days afaik.

the juice is available in hundreds of flavours with variable nicotine strengths, and you would be very lucky to find the perfect one for you without trying a fair few.

I was told yesterday, 1ml of juice is about 24p, and 2.5ml of juice is equivalent to about 15-20 fags. so a 20 a day smoker could expect to use 75p-£1 worth of juice a day. factor in maybe 2 atties a month (cos you will need a spare) and you are looking at under £1.25 a day. no smell, no health issues, no going outside, you get your taste back, and you can vape where you like.

thanks for that, i'll speak to her and see if she thinks one of them can help, must admit i still have a smoke when i'm out drinking and i really can't see myself sat in the pub with one of these although if the wife gets one i'll give it a go and maybe see about using one instead of the fags

does it really give you the same satisfaction of smoking?

it genuinely does for me, if you get the right juice. too strong will taste horrible if you smoke marlboro lights or silk cut etc. and too weak will be naff if you are an embassy or B&H or marlboro red smoker. in fact it gives me more satisfaction, because I dont have to leave my desk, or settee! getting over the different flavour is a bit of a leap, but in terms of stopping the craving - its f**king bang on.

I've just received and subsequently tried out my new e-cigsbrand cigarette. The pack is brilliant, in that it's shaped like a tab box but in some hardened rubber and velvet material rather than toughened paper. It holds a recharger, a battery and two cartridges. I here that the cartridges are the equiv of 40 tabs, which is a significant improvement on the Gamucci's 12. They seem to come with a built in vapouriser too, which will save on cost and parts. The cartridge is also formed from the rubber material, which is excellent as a lot of the time I leave the thing in my mouth and chew it like a pen (there's that oral fixation again). This has caused the cheaper plastic material of the Gamucci to give way and f**k-up the rather pricey vaporiser.

The juice is profoundly different and tastes like a juicy perfume of sorts. I think this may be exposing the Gamucci's lack of flavouring substance in their cartridge juice. Mind you, I think I prefer it non-perfume, but I could easily get used to this as it isn't exactly unpleasant. The build quality is really good and the advertising campaign was aimed at smokers trying to quit, not vapers trying a different brand - something I should think is a harder demographic to shift. Nevertheless, I think they've won me over. The only downside is that the cartridge is coloured a yellowy brown to mimick a cigarette filter - they've even put a faux-paper fold in as if the paper was wrapped around the filter in a factory. I'd rather they had applied their invention to new design rather than copying here. Otherwise, excellent. A really enjoyable experience and cooly designed product coupled with some major attention to pre-existing flaws.

Strangely enough, you can get a free starter kit from facebook on one of the ads running down the left handside of your page. Just follow the e-cig link. £6.99 package and postage and you'll have to cancel a monthly subscription of refills, but it's worth it and you can get 100 refills (4000 cigarettes) for £35 on some e-cig websites.

Yeah, it's actrually called 'e-cigs'. I think the term e-cigs used for electronic cigerettes is like Hoover when referring to vacum cleaners and Coke when referring to cola.

www.ecigsbrand.com is their website, but that's American.

To update on that deal:

They enrole you on a monthly subscription of £73 for ten refill cartridges. These cartridges have their own atomiser, which is brand new technology and have enough juice to last for at least 40 cigarettes (3X a normal cartridge). They also come with a warrantee that they'll never leak or be inconsistent. Nevertheless, £73 a month for a 10 pack is utter bollocks. You can get a ten pack in the UK for £20 plus P&P (even cheaper than in America!).

However, I've just phoned up to cancel my subscription explaining that it was due to the stupidly expensive nature of the product and not the quality. I told them I would be happy to order monthly from them, but the price was outrageous as I could get packs of 10 elsewhere for £20 plus P&P. They said they'd send my order for less than £20 including P&P. That's a f**king bargain.

If someone else tries the deal above (and I recommend it) would they see if they can get them for even cheaper when they cancel the subscription. If so, tell me and I'll have another go at reducing my bill.

After watching The Tourist my bloke now wants in on this vaping thing. I have no idea of the make but he's got a sampler for about a tenner.

Everyone I know that's seen that has been calling Jonny Depp me. It used to be the other way around.

Calling me Jonny Depp.

I did moreso when I had short hair, strangely enough, or when I wore glassses. That's what I thought anyway. Used to get it a lot when I went out though. Dark eyes, dark hair, similar image I reckon.

My hair's not that long.

Back to vaping. Are you getting one Rabuns and are you going to get your man one Kat?

Not at the moment. It usually is because we're a pair of grungey mofos with a disregard for conventional hairstyle and fashion. We rule!

Such romance!

One point I forgot to mention: You'll need a USB plug. I've got several from my many purchases of Gamucci stuff. This is to recharge the battery. You get a USB connector with the pack to attach the battery, but not a plug. So you'll be able to vape until the battery runs out.
