TheGayTent
The other one people keep saying is corporate sits were not taken, also untrue as it was the different olympic commitees that didn't take the sits.
Rufus Gwertigan
I'd hoped evolution would help us move away from life being a competition... is it still down to the survival of the fittest? Really?

fred quimby
Professional football, especially where all the money is, is an interesting example of how competing 'could' be a good thing. But all it does is promote the ethic that you can cheat, foul, do anything as long as you don't get caught, to win. Competing at a certain level is part of the game. There's not much point in playing if you don't try to win. But does it have to be such a disaster to lose?

kaosmark2
I'm not into football but a few of my brothers are. When their team (da Villa) didn't win something a fair while ago one of my brothers was really down about it. I tried explaining that it was only football and nothing to get so involved in that it would bring you down. His response was that I didn't know what a high it was when they won something noteable. Make of all that what you will.
TheGayTent
It's why supporting a shit team gives you bigger highs than supporting a team that wins all the time.
