Special guest slots are always one of those things in the back of my mind, everyones scared to miss what they would be their ultimate special guest but unless im around the park area at the time and have no other acts i want to see i rarely make the effort.

Thinking back over the last 3 times ive been i think there have been 8 or 9 park stage special guests and NERD on the pyramid, in total i caught 2 songs by the last shadow puppets and a 30 second guitar strum from jack white as he appeared with them. Of the others apart from last years Thom and Jonny set i cant think that id would have gone to see any even if the bands had been listed

they were for me, i didn't know they'd played till i got home.

same goes for Kylie and The Edge's guest appearances.

not that i wasn't enjoying myself elsewhere, but all of those completely passed me by!

Fair enough, I realise it can pass some people by. Kylie was in the newspaper I think although The Edge was a genuine surprise for me. I didn't think you could miss all the Biffy Flags. There were flyers being handed out everywhere from the Park to the JP as I recall as well.
