Obviously I have no idea if this bunch will actually play, but at least we know they are all playing at festivals this summer. So do people think they are likely to be the ones that are going to be filling up the bill this year at Reading?

Since Leeds/Reading is basically NME: The Official Festival, I'd be downright surprised if we didn't see The Vaccines, Everything Everything, Crystal Castles, White Lies and Noah and the Whale at some point.

It's a pretty good line-up for an indie-pop festival, although to be honest it's only the Foos and Weezer that I'm jealous of. Anyone else worth watching has a good chance of being at R&L as well.

My chemical romance will headline the main stage, in 2010 the same argument went on about blink 182 and in 2009 the arctic monkeys. Out of interest, why do T place bands lower the bill than readin/leeds like blink 182. Is it because they only have to do 1 date rather than 2? I mean blink are a big band but the 3 headliners are huge.

It's because they don't have the same demographic. R&L might seem like it's becoming a chav/v festival, but T already attracts that crowd.

Exactly, TITP trys to cater for everyone whereas R&L is more centred towards Rock/Indie/Punk. Acts like Blink may divide opinion on these boards but there would be uproar if they headlined TITP.

Agreed the demographics are different but I think the 3 headliners would go down great at reading/leeds, even coldplay who Im not sure have ever been booked. Even taking into account the demographics, I just could never see reading/leeds booking 3 huge headliners and then finding a band the size of blink to sub.

Coldplay have played before on the old Carling stage before they were big, in an unrelated note it's the same with Black Eyes Peas who people say will never play Reading & Leeds as they are a Vfest act but played have before.

Coldplay would draw a huge crowd at reading, doesnt matter how uncool they are. Unsure how I feel about the headline comparisons. On one hand its annoying that this years t headliners are more popular in the uk that all 3 of last years headliners and probably all 3 of this years. However you could criticize t for being very safe and recycling the usual bands.
