GTG
I think Hannah Peel has done a few tracks with the Unthanks, but not sure shes playing with them now?
wackojackohighcliffe
Oh, it's out there now, just need to look in the right places. Purely on an inspection basis, you could try Helplessness Blues
perfectpassion
Last time I heard Hannah Peel she was playing with Blue Roses I think, I would have loved either or both of them to be at EOTR, if she was playing with the Unthanks you probably couldnt see her at the back! Unihammer
Can I play The Decemberists Arbouretum 6 organs of admittance
MattL80
Replying to my own message to say I saw Arbouretum play last week and they were superb. If you enjoyed Wolf People last year you're bound to like this. If the powers-that-be are listening, I was talking to the drummer after the show. He said they are looking to do some festivals in the UK over the summer but had nothing set up yet. Hint! hint!

Unihammer
I've only heard a couple of tunes off the new album but their last (first?) one was great. They'd be great at eotr.

fogged
Add to previous ones I mentioned: Julianna Barwick - The Magic Place and Bill Callahan - Apocalypse. It might be as good as Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle.

bennyhana22
Very much enjoying Treefight for Sunlight. They certainly know how to craft a pop hook, but with a lot of charm. How very Scandinavian of them. Will definitely see them at EoTR unless there's a very unfortunate clash. Ben
geofelgie
I still seem to be in a big, unabashed, melodies mood....I have six albums standing out for me now.... Guillemots - Walk the River (had a sneaky preview before getting the vinyl next week - it is glorious) Bell X1 - Bloodless Coup Noah and the Whale - Last Night On Earth Joan as Policewoman - The Deep Field British Sea Power - Valhalla Dancehall The Dears - Degeneration Street But there are so many others out there - this is shaping up to be a classic year. (In truth - apart from the Guillemots - my true album of the year is Dan Mangan - Nice, Nice, Very Nice but as that originally came out in 2009 (shocking!) I can't really count it)

ljsawyer
Of the 40 or so 2011 albums I've listened to so far this year, my top 10 goes like this: 1. Josh T. Pearson - The Last of The Country Gentlemen 2. Low - C'mon 3. The Cave Singers - No Witch 4. Treefight For Sunlight - Treefight For Sunlight 5. The Dodos - No Color 6. Timber Timbre - Creep On Creepin' On 7. Clive Tanaka Y Su Orquesta - Jet Set Siempre No.1 8. Akron/Family - ST II 9. The Rural Alberta Advantage - Departing 10. Found - Factorycraft 4 EOTR acts. Not too shabby at all! Worst album of the year for me so far (by a pretty comfortable distance) goes to Moment Bends by Architecture In Helsinki. That album was so bad I tore down the 'Places Like This' poster from the wall in my bedroom in anger Listening to the new O'Death album right now and it's sounding great. I think I'll put on the new Sarabeth Tucek album on later as well. Edited April 17, 2011 by ljsawyer
bennyhana22
Every single song on their album is a huge bag of super catchy psychedelic pop riffs. I love it.
