shoebox
Yep, putting all my eggs in the PJ for EOTR basket now. I, for one, will be delighted if it proves to be true.
Sipperana
+1 - would be ace to see Peej again. Not sure I can think of any other contenders, though if there's any chance it were The Decemberists I would also grin like a mad thing. Sipperana
Though I will, as ever, hold out for the remote possibility of eels.

bennyhana22
If it was Beck I'd be phenomenally underwhelmed, but excited that there was no clash on the Garden Stage at that point for me! Ben
shoebox
It won't be Beck. There's absolutely no logical reason for it to be Beck. Although, I'd love it if it was. Get my dancing shoes on! Nah, it'll be PJ.
wackojackohighcliffe
Maybe Okkervil? Some slightly confused part of me says Bon Iver? Could be the Ds but who knows.
ljsawyer
Like some of you guys I was getting a bit worried after the first couple announcements that the festival wouldn't be diverse enough this year, but the latest announcement has totally proved me wrong. North African desert blues, hazy dream pop, colossal post-rock, experimental noise rock and a slice of garage punk... Brilliant. Hahaha I tried to post a reply to you Geoff...and it came out blank, which pretty much sums up how I feel too. There are some smaller bands I am looking forward to like Tree Fight for Sunlight.... but If I hadnt got an earlybird I'm not sure I would be rushing to buy a ticket. Just seen the line up for Truck and wishing I could go there instead. xx
ljsawyer
Slightly more on topic I'm hoping for My Morning Jacket. I've never really rated PJ Harvey or The National particularly highly but I'd welcome either of them as it'll give me a chance to check out one of the Local or Tipi headliners which I was unable to do last year (here's to the RAA!) geofelgie
Well technically speaking PJ Harvey is playing I'll Be Your Mirror in London.....efestivals thinks its a festival but it bills itself as an "event"
geofelgie
Of course there is always the hope that if Midlake dont have to be headliners then maybe My Morning Jacket don't either!
shoebox
Hehe, and to prove that none of us will agree as to who the best headliner would be, I would be suitably underwhelmed if MMJ are announced.
Infinite Jest
Tom Waits hasn't announced for any festivals here... *Just saying*. I'd be happy with PJ, though I'm not a massive fan. National would be good too but I've seen them about 4-5 times in the last year or so. (That said, the idea of the singer climbing up on the roof alongside the peacocks during 'Mr November' has quite a lot of appeal...). Edit: no real interest in MMJ here, either. Nothing wrong with them, but I don't quite get the love. Eels would be good. Edited March 11, 2011 by Infinite Jest

shoebox
Yup - and there's no doubt that PJH would be a bigger coup for the festival. Anyway......who's going to play the Thursday?????

Outlier
Belle & Sebastian aren't playing any UK festivals yet, so could they be a possibility?
riverlodge
Is your avatar my mighty Icelandic Pixies headlining Latitude '08? Now THAT was a Saturday night...elbow in the evening sun followed by Sigur Ros *sighs with happy memories*. Ben
perfectpassion
Hi Costa...didnt realise that was you! Oh don't mind me I am just getting to the age where being grumpy is my mission (and thermal underwear more important than high heels), especially with Bouncy Ben being just sooooo positive! Having said that we have to book our holidays before any band announcements, and now PB has to work when Truck is on. Apart from D&K at Truck they have Cherry Ghost didnt manage to get Union Chapel tks .... Johnny Flynn... and St Etienne (am having a Field Mice, Sarah Records moment). So sorry if I sound slightly boring and lattitude-like I just dont feel as excited as when I rushed out to buy my first EOTR ticket just because Tindersticks were playing!!!! RedRockRick
Speaking of Tindersticks, the soundtrack to Winter's Bone, which Little white Lies showed at EOTR last year but I saw a month later, is heart-rending.

Elfy
I was just thinking it could be Nick And The Bad Seeds, and thinking what an utterly wonderful prospect that would be.

SweepingTheNation
It will of course more than likely be none of the above. I'd say Grinderman would be more likely than Bad Seeds if it's Cave, though.
