She's got the pipes I know. But genuinely think Rod is a much better booking. He's less earnest and self-serious. He doesn't think that every time he sings it has to be to try to stop a famine. He's having a laugh in a largely terrible world, and that - I think - is valuable.
Yeah, it's poor thinking.
The only active British metal act conceivably out of reach to the festival is Iron Maiden - mostly because they would accept nothing but headlining the Pyramid and Bruce Dickinson is already quite sore on the fact they've not been offered, the rampant Tory fencing champion that he is - but arguably anyone else currently in the game could play.
Not British, per se, and they are almost certainly going to be too expensive as a European festival headliner in their own right...
But Ghost would be excellent counter-programming somewhere on the Other Stage, preferably when dark.
Dunno man. Kind of hasn't sunk in yet. We have a largish team that all missed out so even if we sneak 4 of us in in April it likely won't be the same.
As is we're all a little unspun and discombobulated. Some folk hollering for Sziget and so on, but a long way to go for probably ropey lineup.
