I don't know if the comedy line up is open for suggestions but for something a bit different check out these guys, the Flabbergast Theatre Puppet Poker Pit http://www.wix.com/metalchimp/flabbergast

Their show is one of the most original and hilarious things I've seen in ages and would be great on the comedylne up or even perhaps in the library one morning?

I guess I'm quite excited about today's announcement. Didn't see any comedy in '09 - stopped by by the pavilion, but it looked very small and cramped, with the artists kind of wandering around the floor-seated audience...all a wee bit 'amateur', dare I say it? I think I've read that they are changing the venue for comedy thus year, is that right? Presumably, with a considerably bigger emphasis on this side of things it'll be a bigger set up. So, yeah, could be good. I really enjoyed a bit of cinema last time I was at EoTR so a bit of diversity expansion, to give EoTR more of a full-festival-feel should be welcome.

But what about further music announcements. I know that EoTR has tweeted re: 'a few more bands' but, looking at numbers so far announced, the Local to fill it's bill etc, do we think that we're pretty much done for 'name' bands? Or is there still room and precedent in previous years for 'significant' acts yet to be announced, given the way the poster looks so far? Is the fact that there already is an early edition of the poster evidence that in fact that pretty much is it as far as well-known bands is concerned?

Yeah, hard for me to really get excited about the comedy stage. I only tended to pop along early morning as it tended to kick off before the bands started.

They've just announced who's playing and the names aren't familiar to me. Apart from Jim Bob from Carter that is. I'll probably try and catch him if there's no clashes. Assuming he's going to be reading from his book, Storage Stories, which is well worth a read. It's very funny.

Can't see there being many more bands announced outside of the Local and Unsigned ones. Not big names anyway. But you never know.

Yes Ben,

"Comedy is set to expand into its own tented venue, with a massive 9 hours of comedy a day to choose from, including late night shows."

Can't imagine I'll be seeing much, what with wanting to see about 2/3rds of the musical line-up!
