According to the official sites the announcment and ticket release has been put back slightly to 7.15pm.

Ah so 15 min delay between line up and sale? I couldn't tell from the website it just says line up and tickets at 7.15pm without stating the time for the line up if was 7 or or 7.15

Again, I know exactly what it says, my point is everything happens about 15 mins before to keep the traffic down and the website from crashing.

There will be a point though when the prices just get OTT if they carry on boosting the prices like they are, people will just not bother or go to a different festival.

Festivals are getting ridiculously expensive, once you're over the £200 mark it's getting silly.

One of the best festival deals going is The Rockness Early Bird offer, £99 which can be paid in three installments. Fair enough it's only two and a half days but normally you get a decent line up especially if you're into dance music.

Even if sales do die off the they'll try other things, like releasing line-ups earlier or payment plans, before they reduce or freeze ticket prices.

We're paying more for festival tickets, but less for recorded music. I imagine it balances itself out if you buy a lot of music, so really those who are paying a real increase are those who aren't paying for recorded music.

EDIT: Though that only really works out if you only go to 1 festival - and no other live music, which is pretty unlikely if you buy a lot of albums.

Aye it is quite a treck, it's about four hours for us and we're only heading up from Glasgow.

Well worth it when you get there and see the Main Stage.

Don't let that old chesnut fool you. The music industry has been stealing from your wallet since the stone age - it's about time they got put in their place and had the same thing happen to them. The only people who suffer from musical piracy are those greedy few who are already rich. Independent bands and artists who do their own thing should be the ones who get the support, and most of them find themselves ending up at festivals that are usually remarkably free from corporate involvement and cost significantly less.
