Now - back then I was only into Linkin Park, Green Day, Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, The Offspring, Evanescence, Avril Lavigne and a bunch of American post-grunge/hard rock bands (Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin etc.) - it was only after I started going to festivals in 2008 that I started to branch out a bit.

I think they were always a pretty good bet to play, have a history at the festival and have a new record out so it makes sense. Probably 6th on the main stage or 2nd/3rd in the tent.

Can imagine them appearing under White Lies somewhere. Like Muse-Elbow-Interpol-White Lies-The View

Don't think the White Lies would play fourth, but slot another band in there (eg Deftones) and it looks like a fairly realistic top six.

Deftones would look so out of place in the middle of those bands.

I'd have thought they'd go OK with Interpol. Elbow between Muse and Interpol isn't exactly smooth.

Don't really like The View, the first album had 2 or 3 quite enjoyable tracks. Second was dire. But this new album isn't too shabby, quite a few good songs.

Good solid booking, they're a decent band and I'm sure they won't be picky about where they play.

Still don't have a f**king clue what they're saying half the time though.

Just to confirm this is about the Pigeon Detectives not The View.

Brand New 2007 was one of the best ive seen at reading.

Its funny what a difference being in the tent makes because when they played the main stage a couple of years later, they didnt seem to go down very well at all. They really suffered from the fact that the majority of the main stage crowd didnt know who they were.

As for the view, they would be a solid booking in my opinion. Love the new single but wary about the album after the last one was so bad.
