TheBigJT
For what it's worth she's 13 and from Anaheim Hills (an upscale area a few miles from me). There was a whole profile of her in my local paper (Orange County, CA) that filled in some of the story. Here's the link if you want to waste any more time on this.... http://www.ocregister.com/entertainment/-292662--.html

lac999
OK, I expect to get a lot of hate making this point but here goes nothing... Rebecca Black is heavily mocked for her lyrics discussing the mundane and day to day, however are they really that different to the great poets and genius musicians that are Damon Albarn and Ray Davies in their discussion of the mundane and day to day. 1st verse of Blur - Fool's Day Wake up straight Called out by the sun On the first day of April Out of bed Lord, it was a plane crash But I’m sure that I was dreaming TV on, Of course caffeine and signs Of submission again Another day On this little island Just a bell hangs on 1st verse of The Kinks - A well Respected Man 'Cause he gets up in the morning, And he goes to work at nine, And he comes back home at five-thirty, Gets the same train every time. 'Cause his world is built 'round punctuality, It never fails. 1st Verse of Rebecca Black - Friday 7am, waking up in the morning Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal Seein' everything, the time is goin' Tickin' on and on, everybody's rushin' Gotta get down to the bus stop Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends (My friends) I would like to emphasise that Rebecca Black is hideously untalented and that Albarn and Davies are the finest musicians of our time. BUT is anyone wiser to me as to why Albarn & Davies are geniuses for discussing the mindane, whereas RB is mocked for being unimaginative and disgraceful. Anyone? Nixy
And this is why I love the internet people will seriously discuss the lyrical merits of Black v. Albarn v. Davies It's a wonderful world
lac999
Carry on with lyrics and the others and you will soon see why I get what your saying though in a way, alot of others are have done the same for some song but for me its the autotune, repetiveness and terrible english, that all if she wrote it herself its not really that bad for a 13 year old but should it have got that sort of attention and such. CiderFiend
Rebecca couldn't decide which seat to take because she was completely blazed. Starting every day with a bowl seriously affects your cognition.
