Headliner days changed to TBC

Sorry if this has been mentioned anywhere else, i couldnt find it.

All the days for probable headliners are now TBC.

I was thinking of getting a day ticket so this changes things a little bit.

Anyone got any news on this? Thanks

It won't make a huge difference, just get a day ticket when you know what day your bands are playing. It's not like efests had much ordered in the first place.

They were always on Day TBC and on each day, efests said they had no idea on which day each headliner would play.

To clarify - headliners are not upgraded from 'strongly rumoured' to 'to be confirmed'. They were previously rumoured for specific days (Muse and Elbow on Friday, Strokes and Pulp on Saturday, My Chemical Romance on Sunday), however they are now all under the unknown day section. I misunderstood the OP.

EDIT: Ah, beaten to it. Maybe Muse will be closing the weekend then? Should stop people complaining about MCR so much if that's the case.

Because I can't be sure of the days each act is playing, and because I don't want day-ticket buyers to buy a ticket for the wrong day on the basis of what is listed here, I felt it was best to remove the day info from what we have listed.

The acts are all still listed as 'strong rumour', but I'll be very surprised if the headliners and two sub-headliners that we've had listed in our rumours for ages aren't headlining and subbing.

I heard a few days ago that MCR, 30STM and Deftones were all friday but just assumed they were talking about Leeds but it may have been Reading.

Ah right. I thought the days were nailed on so was planning on getting a day ticket for friday for muse on the info you had before. So cheers for changing it mate! Just have to actually see the poster before I go for it.

But yeah, that could make MCR less controversial if theyre not doing the Sunday.

I assume his thinking is if MCR dont end the festival there will be less complaints. If MCR played Fri reading Sat Leeds then maybe any bad performance can be masked if the Sunday headliners are great

Haha, come on mate, this isnt an are MCR right to headline thread.

I just meant that, whether right or wrong, its pretty obvious that some people dont fully agree with them being booked as headliners. But if theyre not closing the festival, maybe they might feel they deserve their slot a bit more.

Some people still hold on to the old tradition that the biggest band with the loudest fireworks should close the festival (this line of thought has been redundant since Leeds started tbh) and see a weak Sunday headliner as a wasted slot to end the festival on a high note. So there will be complaints about them but not playing the Sunday will take away the "what a shitty way to end the weekend" complaint. There'll still be plenty of others though I imagine.

It's nice to have a big band closing the weekend so you have it all building up to something, rather than getting the big names out of the way early and ending with an anticlimax.

None of them are that big, none deserve the sunday slot.

I'll be severely pissed off at festival republic if those 3 are the headliners this year, but I still can't see it happening. Even I would be tempted to join in the destruction if MCR played the sunday slot and I'm usually dead against that.

RHCP announced in NME they have festival slottage this year so I'm beginning to wonder if it's RnL.
