bsparrow
Hey, This year was due to be my first time at Glastonbury (successfully got tickets) however I received some happy but unfortunate news that my sister is getting married on the Friday afternoon! Despite trying to ask her to change the date (register office wedding) this isn't going to happen. As such I have no choice but to go to the wedding. I intend to fly to wedding (Bristol back home to Glasgow) on Thursday and come back on Friday evening (11pm). On Saturday morning I intend to get the 7.40am 376 Bus from Bristol Bus Station and it appears it will get me to Glastonbury Town Hall at 9.06am. This is less than 20mins drive to the main site which I intend to take a taxi. My question oh wise ones, is this - can I enter Glastonbury site on the Saturday (considering its one of the only festivals not to do day tickets) and if so will it be possible at this time in the morning? I figure people stay in B&B's so must leave the site at night. Does anyone know of anyone who hasn't went to the festival until the Saturday? I need to decide if this is possible as its time in the next 2-weeks to pay the outstanding £145 for the ticket. STRESSED. My sis only booked her wedding 2-weeks ago and hadn't told anyone before hand (despite asking me to give her away). Helpful information will be much appreciated. StoneCircle
Yes you can re-enter the festival, you will need your ticket, pass out that will be given to you as you leave and your wrist band will have to remain in place during the wedding. What a great accessory, make sure you get it in all the photos, my nephews is visible on his graduation photo!!! Instead of waiting for the 1st bus you may want to grab a taxi back from Bristol Airport (think its about £50.00 when the roads are not busy) to the festival and get a few zzzzz's ready for Saturday or even hit Arcadia!! What a pain to miss so much of your 1st Glastonbury, will still be worth it though!!
Glasto_1
Yes, gates are open 24 x 5 so you can come back any time of day or night! and as StoneCircle said keep your wristband + your 'PASS OUT' pass + your ticket with your photo on it. joe_bee
Just to make sure there's no confusion, the first time you enter the site you just need your ticket. They'll give you a wristband on your way in and give you your ticket stub back. When you leave the site they'll give you a pass out (usually a small piece of printed paper). So if you decide to go on site before Saturday morning (i.e. for Wednesday) before leaving and heading to the wedding on Thursday you'll need to keep hold of your little pass out, your ticket stub, and your wrist band to be allowed back in. If you just want to head in on Saturday morning, you'll just need your ticket.
al_coholic
Just tell your Sister you are double booked and skip the wedding, this is the last Glasto for 2 years!! Seriously once youve been to 1 registry office wedding they are all the same
bsparrow
Hey guys, Cheers for information. Joe Bee thanks mate as I was really needing to know that I can just wait until the Saturday morning before turning up to the site (I figure most people arrive from Wed to Frid). Alco I bloody wish I could just bin the wedding but if I did history will always remember I missed her wedding for Glastonbury (despite the fact she only booked this in Feb without asking anyone). lol. I am suitably relieved as I honestly felt that I would just not go at all. Will be shame to miss Friday but having Sat/Sun and hopefully seeing Janelle Monae & Friendly Fires will make up for it. I really don't mind missing U2 on Friday. Bring it on...

Glasto_1
Yes, its no problem turning up for the first time on the Saturday - I know some that have had to do this unavoidably as well.
drewsstrat
all gates are manned 24hrs a day - If you have a campervan then this is a daily ritual anyhow; no problem
