I don't buy that, people said that about last year but Beady Eye, The Strokes, Pulp, The National, Muse, Elbow, Interpol, Jane's Addiction, The Streets and The Offspring were all in prime slots and weren't exactly going to alienate older festival-goers. There will also be bands aimed at youngsters but there will also always be older bands, there's a good mix but people tend to jump on one and say that there's too much of it. Anyway festivals are a young person's game so of course they're going to try and attract them, I'm in my mid-thirties but I'd hate to go to a festival aimed at people my age (the thought of somewhere like Hop Farm makes me shudder).

Agreed, melvin has to broaden the fest out a bit and get some acts he wouldn't usually. If they stick to the 'demographic' bands its going to be the same old bands all over again.

Put crystal castles in that list as well
