I was at Joiners last night and went to see Howler, I had a chance to talk to the lead singer and I asked if he was playing reading this year and he replied with "I cannot release any information about this" while nodding his head, I take this as they are defiantly playing they were very good too, I was expecting a generic NME hype band with only one good song however they have actually got a lot of really good short face paced songs, I look forward to seeing them again!

I think there is, and that reason would be their egos.

From what I've heard - tho I don't know for sure it's true - since the year they headlined the tent at R/L they've pretty much demanded headliner status for UK fests.

Id be more then happy if the first announcement looked like this. Still not convinced with bloc party headlining. They got an album due this year? Whens it out? Will it be the original line up, thought there was talk of replacing kele?

@arcticgorilla I'd say swap MGMT and gaslight anthem, and move Mona to below the vaccines plus get rid of Frank Turner and then you've got more realistic placings. Also if Last Shadow Puppets play (which I can't see) they'd have to have a new album and they wouldn't be below ed sheeran

That's really good, I think you have got some of the positioning pretty much spot on, although the NME stage looks quite weak.

I reckon if Ed Sheeran played, he'll play in about the position Mumford and Sons played in 2010, third top on NME.

Maccabees I reckon would co-headline NME with Two Door Cinema Club. NME love them.

The maccabees will headline nme or play 4th main stage or at a push 3rd,they will play higher than in 2010 when they played 5th on the main stage, plus their latest album came 4th in the album chart and has been given a lot of good reviews!
