I do agree. A lot of people are tipping them heavily for the slot, and just not sure what's behind it.

As much as I am liking the prospect of Foos and Kasabian, it was a little predictable and slightly tainted by them both doing IOW last year. Shall still be amazing though!

Just hoping for something pretty different for the third headline slot.

Foo Fighters, Kasabian and possibly The Killers, you don't get much safer than that for R & L <_<

Well done to Kasabian, they have now talked themselves up into being Main Stage headliners at two UK major festivals, they only need to be Glastonbury headliners next year and they have managed to complete one of the greatest illusions of all time. <_<

Next Few Weeks will be the announcement according to the Leeds Festival Facebook page... No more debating, we will finally see who will headline 2012 and who will be on the undercard

Place your bets, place your bets!

According to someone on the Reading Official Forums the headliners are: The Cure, Kasabian and the Foo Fighters.

They've also found out that Elbow are playing Latitude, Drake is at Wireless or V (confirmed for Wireless yesterday) and that the Stone Roses are playing V (seemed obvious).

They found out the info from their dads friend who is apparently big in the music industry, make of that what you will...they could be easily making it up from rumours here but it makes sense at the moment.

Thats what I thought too ;). It was a matter of a couple of hours after the info was presented on here...

Although, then again any behind the scenes loosening of info is going to come at the same time once the word gets around.

that might be the case, but knowing what I know it seems hugely unlikely to be the case.

And aside from what I know this same sort of thing happens every year, of people 'suddenly' claiming to know stuff piggy-backing off something I've recently said. In the vast majority of cases the later revealed facts get to show that they never knew anything.

There might be something to it but I really don't feel I'm going out on a limb by dismissing it as made-up bollocks.

Order of preference for 3rd headliner descending: Radiohead, Blur, Slipknot, System of a Down.

Perhaps also in order of possibility ascending?

I can dream. Hoping the under card will be interesting; i would like to see Primus appear somewhere, and A Perfect Circle ostensibly finish their tour of America early August, which would make the festival for me. Although i read somewhere they weren't going near Europe this year...

All unlikely. Ho Hum.
