The Cure would only ever headline a main stage, it would be that or nothing.

I don't really know The Cure, but appreciate it would be a decent headliner for Reading.

I would also like Shikari to do NME that day!

I love the Foo's and have seen them many many times...so super happy there but not excited ...because i've seen them lots... i'm ok with kasabian..little uninspiring to be honest... The cure....thik i might cry...what a pile of junk

I was personally hoping for Greenday so would be gutted if this was true! Dont Leeds usually have two American bands playing & one English head-lining? Kasabian and The Cure would be 2 english-not convinced until I see it for definite!

The worrying thing is, my mate had predicted this line-up on the 25th of January... he was convinced and had a bit of knowledge but i didnt belive him!

I actually hope the cure headline, not cause I like them just because there is a good chance for enter shikari to headline the tent without missing anyone I want to see

I'm still hoping for Green Day or SOAD, I'd like to think they're semi-likely still. Slipknot and Rammstein are probably less likely but i would go nuts if they headline, it'd be brilliant. I'd even go for The Killers or Blur too, but The Cure

Surely, surely not The Cure. It doesn't at all fit in with anything Melvin's done in the past and doesn't fit with the R+L demographic at all. But then he is very unpredictable. I don't foresee the crowd being very big for them.

probably won't go and see the cure. only like 3 of their songs an if the maccabees or someone are in the NME tent i'll probably go and see them

It took until mid-August for Bestival to sell out last year and that's a much smaller fest.

The only thing which keeps The Cure's sales up is how few shows they do here.

E-fest-could you see either Feeder or Keane at R/L this year as both have albums out? Main stage but lower down the pecking order???

The Cure have European festival dates May through to July (so far). Guessing they may hang about for Reading or book further dates in betweeen

Seriously though, a suprising, but solid set of headliners if true

Bestival don't do day tickets and there is the added cost/hassle of getting to the IOW.

An outdoor Cure show, with day tickets available on the mainland would sell a lot quicker due to the rareness of it, against the Foo's or Kasabian who constantly play festivals/tours in the UK.

...also consider that with a well booked mainstage that appeals to Cure fan and maybe a slightly older crowd, it could work very well indeed on the day tickets front. Keeping bands that appeal the the younger audience on the other 2 days would still ensure weekend ticket sales from the kiddies!

The Cure are probably the only reason why I'd consider coming back after not going to Bestival
