Remember, R+L said they've got 'the ultimate headliners' - the third headliner has got to be pretty special to live up to that. I wouldn't call Kasabian ultimate at all. So with that in mind I don't think The Killers have a chance - The Cure or even Green Day as SR suggest seems more likely to me.

You should remember with this though that the french guy you'd got everything right about Metallica appearance at Download this year 1st, SOAD's reunion 1st and Slipknot at Soni last year 1's put this as well and many believe it was Van Halen until they arsed up again and The Prodigy played.

The Prodigy it didn't sound like were booked a long long time ago for Download, someone even had info that the deal got signed very late on before the announcement, how true we'll not know.

Probably because Strickly has this week been saying that there's a 75% chance of Green Day, Rammstein, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Killers & Kasabian all playing.

That's the difference between knowing a band has been booked and knowing a band has been in talks and Van Halen were only ever in talks and never signed so when you throw all of your credibilty behind it goes tits up it says a lot about their judgement and common sense than their contacts and in this case I don't trust a thing they say.

Green Day would be amazing, Foo Fighters would be amazing, Kasabian would be ok-ish, The Cure i wouldnt mind if Enter Shikari headlined NME. Slipknot/SOAD/Rammstein are all major outsiders.

There is no way Killers and Cure would play reading and not headline. So i call bullshit.

Rónán Creighton What I take from this: Foos and Kasabian will more than likely headline, the 3rd headliner will be 1 of The Cure, The Killers and Green Day. Kaiser Chiefs will play the main stage and Refused will headline The Lock-Up. In short, there is no new information here. Basically Efests rumours spread out across different stages and positions.

Don't remember GD being tbc at all, and at one point everyone thought rhcp would be at soni (and they weren't even a tbc here i don't think, just a r)

Neil has been saying for years he thinks Green Day will never play R&L again and I don't remember ever seeing them asTBC or even listed when they have been rumoured else where in previous years. I think RCHP were put as a SR for Soni tho.
