I dunno, I would say his career in this country sky rocketed after Glasto. He was big, big in America, but not seen as a big live act, or anywhere near a headline act. The minute he was announced the country went ballistic. Once he smashed it, he became one of the most bankable and biggest names in this country... before then he was only popular really in his hip-hop circles.

Foo Fighters day could go:

Foo Fighters

Biffy Clyro

Placebo

Motorhead

We Are Scientists

Eagles of Death Metal

The Subways

... or something like that. Biffy are playing DL, IOW and Rockness as well, but Prodigy played DL, IOW, Rockness & Reading in 2009.

Motorhead played Sonisphere and Bloodstock last year, and there's no room for them at Download. Doubt they would do UK Soni two years in a row. If they were to play any day, it would be the Foo's day.

Another day could go:

Kasabian

Bloc Party

Mumford & Sons

Maximo Park

White Lies

Another day could have...

*Unkown NME Headliner*

The Black Keys

Kaiser Chiefs

The Ting Tings

Lost Prophets

....or perhaps Kaiser's headline the NME tent one night? I think that would be much better for them at this point of their career.

...

In regards to MCR, the show they put on seemed fine. But they didn't prove themselves to be headliners, not in any way, shape or form. They could have put on just as good of a show as a sub. They had a really small crowd too. Really small.

Muse are a fantastic example. How I forgot them I do not know.

I don't agree that MCR had a small crowd. At least not at Leeds, the place was rammed out nothing like Arcade Fire the year before, we walked from our tent all the way to dead centre in the middle between the stage and the barrier.

There is no way you could have walked all the way to the front for MCR at Leeds. Plus I thought they absolutly justified the slot, totally surprised me when I was not expecting much at all.

There was a decent crowd in the front section but as soon as you got behind the barrier there was virtually no-one. I left halfway through to go and catch a bit of unkle ( who had a ridiculously small crowd) then went back to meet my friends at MCR and got to them easily. The crowd at AF wasn't very dense but filled a much bigger chunk of the field.

Btw I thought MCR put on a very good show from what a saw, I'm really just not a fan of the music.

I don't see why Gaslight would jump from 7th to 4th or 5th with no new material?

I didn't know about NFG, but didn't think they'd play main stage 2 years running. Maybe lock-up?

TDCC probably will due to NME tour but I'm pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong) that someone from it didn't play once, and thought that might happen again since they've been here the past couple years.

I think letlive would be the perfect main stage opener.
