I agree that SOAD can sub at R+L. In tems of otherf metal bands, Metallica are much bigger. Download/Soni is directly SOAD crowd.

IMO, if SOAD played under Tallica in 03, they can sub someone bigger now. If R+L was their comeback gig then yes headlining they could've done. I think they'll need to record and release new material before they annouce a show anywhere else.

They're one of the biggest metal/crossover bands of the last decade. They're massive, and considering the amount they'd cost, I highly highly doubt they'd be anywhere but headline.

I think this could happen;

Green Day - Maybe, like Linkin Park, I feel it hasn't happened for a reason again. Bloc are nailed I think.

Slipknot - Will not happen anytime soon I doubt, defo not with Corey Taylor, he's said as much.

Avenged Sevenfold - Maybe

Kasabian - Yes

Flaming Lips - No, no indication ata ll from how the fest has goen that these wil play.

Editors - Yes, but I put them 4th so a bigger band could go higher

Foo Fighters - Yes

Chemical Brothers - When does this ever happen? I can't remember it ever happening.

Biffy Clyro - Would surely play 2nd now?!, Headlined Soni, yes different crowd but actually more a R+L band so likely based on that to play higher at R+L than that.

Biffy would sub and I doubt the Chems would play unless it was dark. Foos - Biffy - Placebo could happen.

Basically if you make a prediction that goes all out it's going to be unrealistic.

Yours is very much realistic, but it isn't bigger. BananaCo's is much bigger, but I highly doubt Green Day, Slipknot, Flaming Lips or Chemical Brothers will play.

I don't agree on the isn't bigger. I think its bigger in terms of R+L. I was going all out by keeping it realistic which is kinda the point.

I think SOAD would headline, if they played of course. There's the argument that they never did headline R&L at their peak, but neither did RATM or Blink 182, and they both headlined on the back of the hype surrounding their reunions. Although in the case of SOAD it's more a comeback than a reunion as they never really split, there's still been a lot of publicity and hype surrounding it. They'd draw a huge crowd and if their performances this summer are anything to go by they'll put on a good show. I think they'd headline anyway.

I thought The Prodigy headlined that year and RATM subbed, although some website say the reverse. Was a good line-up, I agree, although if only Squire and Reni hadn't left the Roses...

As for SOAD - there's a chance they won't be touring next year, but if they are and they get booked for R&L I can only see them headlining.
