The Blur festival show is interesting as it was reported it would be their only major live performance. I still say that Hyde Park rules them out though

the press release said "only major show".

Because they've now announced the one in Norway Sweden, it's a fair presumption that it now means "only major UK show".

But at the same time, because that "only major show" has now been proven as false, it might not apply at all.

I still say they won't do R/L. Melvin likes exclusives.

Way Out West may not be a major show, it's simliar to the Camden Crawl or South By South West where thay have loads of venues playing bands aswell as a main stage but who knows.

How about this - they don't have a third headliner yet, being the reason we don't know who it is. They could well have tried to get Green Day but failed, The Cure could have pulled out for not being allowed to play long enough etc. We could end up with Florence and the Machine headlining...or something else disgusting.

they claimed they had 3 ultimate headliners or something simular so unless one pulled out, they should have all 3 booked

Theres absolutely no chance whatsoever that a festival of R&L's size and stature do not have a third headliner booked only a few weeks before the announcement.

I have just started using this site and it seems that they manage to get accurate info well in advance and if they put an act as TBC or SR they end up playing.

I am curious because while I am desperate to know the third headliner part of me would like it to remain a secret until the official announcement.

Just a few thoughts on what I consider to be the main contenders..

SOAD - No Euro dates as yet. Can't see it being them either.

Green Day - Possible arena tour would rule them out I think.

Linkin Park - Doing a few European fests in June.. maybe?

The Cure - Seem more likely than others, but can't see it myself.

The Killers - Someone said they're doing a UK fest? Sure makes them one of the more likely candidates,

Bloc Party - Next year I would have thought if they were to headline.
