I wish Reading would sort their main stage out with as much kit (lights, lasers, strobes etc) as even the Other gets at Glastonbury. Always a first class show there, just seems a bit 2nd rate at Reading. I know there's probably a licence agreement but as the main stage faces away from town it shouldn't stop them & bands from bringing some decent visuals.

VCK: Phone up MB and book that now lol. just need a few decent dance acts and lower nme acts in there too and my weekend is complete. Sadly I don't see Morrissey for soe reason happening, but love the inclusion of Placebo opposite Kasabian. Death Can seem a bit high? Foo's day is epic. Woul watch Billy Talent and only move all day for drinks lol

unless bloc party come back with a great and popular album then they can f off as far as mainstage headlining goes.

Foo fighters,

kasabian,

iron maiden/ac-dc/blur/beastie boys/the cure.

those are really the only ones i can think of for next years.

guesses for each days 2nd/3rd headliners would be:

morrissey,

noel gallagher,

mars volta,

the coral,

the darkness,

VCK: First of all there is two indie mainstage days which I doubt will happen next year. Foals would be higher than that but I think they would play the tent and sub or headline it. Death Cab to high (once again), Morrissey won't play again. You seem to make line up predictions that all include the same bands but just moved around a little with a few new bands chucked in.

JWC125: Noel Gallagher doesn't really work on that day, swapped with Lostprophets would work. Razorlight won't sub, they could play 3rd or 4th. Babyshambles are too low, Foals don't work on that day. Again, two indie days on main stage won't happen next year. Friday NME should swap with Sunday.

VCK: Yours looks really good, if not unrealistic. I'm not sure they'd go for Placebo up against Kasabian but Friday looks the most realistic.

Can't see Morrissey playing, Gaslight playing that low, Foals that low, or OFWGKTA headlining NME.

Sunday looks fair enough, other than Temper Trap subbing.

JWC126: Not sure Bloc Party and Kasabian will play. Morrissey would definitely not play that low, neither would The Courteeners, or possibly The Vaccines

Razorlight aren't big enough to play there, Lostprophets/'Shambles/BBC are all too big to play in those places and not suited.

Not sure any of Noel Gallagher, YMA6 or Foals would play that low. I can't see Jamie T going back to subbing NME.

Danvb: I don't think Iron Maiden, AC/DC or The Cure are likely at all. Beastie Boys and Blur with an outside chance possibly.

The Soni poster looks awesome, would deffo go if it was real. Download doesn't appeal to me at all. I'm just not into that type of rock/metal. The Reading one looks nice, but have SOAD headline instead of LP and it would be sick :P

I know it's more likely to be Glasto, but after the crowd they pulled this June, I can see it being Mumford & Sons next year.

According to these forums in the past couple of months, R+L apparently gives bands their headlining chance (despite Glasto giving the same bands the chance previous) so with Glasto off next year+the teen demographic they've managed to capture I reckon they are potential candidates & would appeal to both regular festivalers & newbies.

i'd put money on the foo fighters headlining

despite the fact dave grohl has stated he loves the festal, if they close the sunday it'll be exsactly 20 years since grohl first headlined reading festival, thats a nice little selling point for mr bean

good posters, but for me linkin park would be a weak r and l headliner,2nd headliner at most, maybe they headline download, but not a great headliner for reading and leeds.

foo fighters seem a dead cert, would be brilliant to see now grohl has stage prescence and they do wicked outros and jams and crowd interaction.

kasabian,blur,beastie boys,iron maiden,ac/dc for me.
